I would not recommend a soft case for air travel… yes, lighter and cheaper, and if offers some protection, but not really enough impact protection. Also, you can't ship a soft case via FedEx/UPS. Things to look for in a hard case. Locks (or ability to lock with TSA approved pad locks ), wheels, handles on at least two sides. Two separate "compartments", one for the frame and one for the wheels. One thing you have to keep in mind is that a hard case can be difficult to fit in a rental car…. |
