Pretty good incentive.  You'd need a 1 hour swimmer, 5 hour biker and 3 hour runner. Or a 45 minute swimmer, 4:00 biker and me . Just goes to show you how tough it is for one athlete to break 8 hours.

I don't like how they call it a 'full distance' triathlon, makes it seem like anything less isn't a 'real' triathlon.

I could handle the bike in less than 4 hours. So now all we need is a swimmer

Jeez, if you're that fast on the bike you could afford to have me as the swimmer.

That's ok, I realized after I posted that my marathon time would give us an 8.5 hour finish. Maybe we should team up for the math olympics instead.

I've heard rumors about a 1/2 Silverman, but not mention of the $50K.

Give me a few months of solid cycling training time and as long as I have to do the bike only I'll get down to a sub 5:00. But 4:30?? Maybe on a bone flat course with no wind. And from what has been said, this course is anything but flat.

My goal is to be in T2 at 8 hours!

Really the goal is to be started on the run before the winner finishes.

I'm out of shape an holding 1:20/100m in the LCM pool right now. I used to be able to hold 1:16s.... that makes 53min swim.

You're fast for BT Joel, but you're going to have to be able to run 2:30 on a tough course to give a team a shot.

And even with a 2:30 marathon and my :52 minute swim, we'd still need someone to pull off a near 25mph avg for 112 an a brutal course. I'm thinking the 100K is safe.

My bad...someone above said we'd need a 3hr marathon...but their math acytually adds up to 9hrs, not 8. I aint running no 2:30...
