Are you just a little crazy? Or maybe a lot crazy? Either way all are welcome to venture into the land of Sufferlandria.

There are a number of us on the BT TR Team but thought we could use an official thread just for this years tour (as there was one for last year).

Who's in for some real suffering? I know I'm in for getting a hurt on.

I'm in. As dumb as that may be. For those interested, here is the schedule for the Tour. I got winded just reading and thinking about it.

1/25 - Rubber Glove (60 mins... including an FTP test)
1/26 - It seemed like a good idea at the time (2 hours, never done this one before)
1/27 - Revolver (45 mins, mostly high intervals)
1/28 - Hell Hath No Fury (75 minutes)
1/29 - Extra shot + The Wretched (20 + 48 minutes)
1/30 - A very dark place (51 minutes, one of my favs)
1/31 - Angels + The Hunted (Sweet Jebus, that's 2+ hours of hell)
2/1 - Blender (1 hr 45 mins)
2/2 - Violator (68 minutes)

If I can make it past the Angels/Hunted day I'd consider it a success.

81 (.9)
160 (.91)
87 (1.07)
105 (.93)
36 (.98) + 74 (.95)
83 (.99)
93 (.93) + 93 (.95)
148 (.92)
129 (1.06)

1089 Total TSS!

Oh I'm going to check in on this one frequently! New video is out on the 2/4 right after the tour as well.

Chrysalis - It says its Triathlon specific but that may just be the footage...I'll end up buying it either way haha

I'm going to try to go 100% for the whole time.  I'm testing early next week to make sure I have an accurate number before the Tour.

I'm going for 100 the whole time, but realistically this will be more bike work than I've ever done in one week before, so we'll see what happens. That Angels/Hunted one is just impossible. If this was an actual race or ride where you have to keep up with others, that's where I'd fall off and wait on the side of the road for someone to come get me.

Why?
Isn't the point of having Blender on the first day so that you can get an accurate FTP test?

Assuming you mean Rubber Glove, I've never tested with their protocol, so I would rather set my FTP with a protocol I'm familiar with and can compare with previous results.

I'm in, though I'm not sure how far I'll make it... I've never done a Sufferfest workout before, and I've only had TR (and my trainer) for about 2 months now.

I've accepted the fact that this will hurt a lot. And I might die.

At least you accept that fact!

I'm really excited about it and plan on going for 100% for as long as I can. Doing an FTP the first day seems really rough to me...but I guess anything that starts with the word 'suffer' should be rough.

I'm in and will go for it with every stage. I may croak and fall off my bike at some point during this, but in the end, after some psychological help, I'm sure I'll be better for it. Maybe.

The other day I fell out of the frying pan and into the blender!

Falling into the "FIRE" would have been less painful!

Suffer on! IWBMATTKYT

I did last year at 100%. While the first few days had me questioning my religion, it leveled out and became ok. Well, ok as in I made it. I was a better rider because of it. Looking forward to it this year, it was purposefully built into my training plan. Bring the suffer!

I'm in. Doing on my Track bike. I use a CompuTrainer along with TrainerRoad, there's no hiding from pain shakes when TrainerRoad is running the CT and you are on a fixes gear bike.

Thanks for the good info Cornick!  I have only done a couple of the SufferFest workouts and they made honor to their name, so I'm in and it will painfully fun to see how far we can make it at 100%

Announcement from Sufferlandrian Ministry of Dispelling Any Notions of Taking it Easy.

For those wondering about stages 5 and 7:

- Yes, they are horrible
- Yes, you have to do the videos in the order given
- No, you can't take a break between videos. DOES IT SAY EXTRA SHOT + TAKE A BREAK + THE WRETCHED? Didn't think so.

I'm going to donate and sign up today. If Nate and Co hook their name to something so far it's been A+ in my book, so for $10 I'll definitely chip in.

Where did you see that? I thought you could break it up during the course of the day for those...

I'm strongly considering this. Might have to be a very low volume running week for me if I do it.

"Fandom" in triathlon compared to other sports. If you're a sports fan and simply love to follow sport, why pick a sport that may offer a view of the start, the finish and a few moments in between?

Don’t forget this is an incredibly big year for sport with the Olympics back in Athens where the modern Olympics started, and especially triathlon to make its second appearance.
