Champion 5345 Carlsbad, California | Subject: RE: Why isn't this news? Libby GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY I think in the grand scheme of things, this really is not news worthy. His next step is to appeal and go into a pattern of delay until next year when Bush will likely pardon him in the final days of his presidency. (That is what the pundits are saying anyway) The bottom line seems to be that he will never see the inside of a cell. I wonder if he will be the most standout person on the list of pardons or if he will be eclipsed by someone way more dastardly... Edited by WaterDog66 2007-03-07 5:44 PM |

If anybody is guilty in this, it was not Libby, but Armitage, the person who ACTUALLY LEAKED Valerie Plame's name. Second, we find out that she WAS NOT covert, or there WOULD have been charges filed, namely against Armitage, so what we get is that NO crime was committed except for the shlock charge of Libby's recollections conflicting with some other witnesses recollections of what may or may not have really happened. As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger. Amazing.

Libby GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY I know very little about Libby but I will ask those of you who seem glad he has been found guilty, What is he guilty of?.... he is guilty of giving false statements hmmm seems like there are some other elected and former officials who did not go to trial over that. He is guilty of releasing the name of a CIA employee well first that is not against the law now is it she was not covert or undercover and her own Husband released information about her work in the CIA. Let me further ask any of you can you fully recall every conversation you had last year and exactly what was said during that conversation and all the people you mentioned? If you can you are far better than me if you can’t well beware you could be found guilty just like Mr. Libby if you are ever questioned about something by the police. |

Of course it's newsworthy. A senior member of the Bush administration is now a convicted felon. That in and of itself makes it newsworthy.

Why should they answer it. If you are associated with Bush, you should be put in jail. It's sad how much hate politics has in it. Why is it on both sides we are so happy when people do wrong. This country needs to pull it's head out, get rid of all this two party hate where anyone who disagrees with us is a Right wing wacko or a Leftist extremist and be able to disagree without such crap. |

So, it IS Libby who is guilty. If/when Armitage is convicted, then I'll start an Armitage GUILTY thread. Now, if only Libby would claim paternity of that baby, this would all blow over right-quick. And how is this for irony:
But I'm sure Bush won't pardon Scooter since he said at the beginning of the investigation that he doesn't tolerate this stuff. Hoisted on his own party's self-righteous petard. Edited by Renee 2007-03-08 9:39 AM |

The speaker of the house was on a radio show last week saying that she was glad the stock market dropped. then said any gains people make in the stock market should be taxed at 100%. Also she would will push to move the top tax rate to 75% and the bottom to 38%. the reason.. Illegial Aliens have poor living conditions. I didnt' believe it until I heard the sound bite. |

No this was actually her on the radio right after the dow took a tumble,, the show has a podcast on itunes and it was on the speaker of the house website that she was on that show on that actual day, not a little sound bite but her commments and the follow up questions, for the entire show the host was in agreement with her comments. My neighbor is a member of the local dem's league here in town and she just laughed and told me that has been her position for a while going all the way back to her early years in Cali. San Fran area. So I guess thats why it's not news. Maybe its just me but anymore both polictial parties are like the ending of animal farm... you can't tell one from the other.,. the only thing that changes when a new party takes majority is the curtains and the recording on the answering machines gary |

Elite 4547 | Subject: RE: Why isn't this news? Libby GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY Personally, I get a kick out of all the folks here defending Libby with the old, "She wasn't covert at the time!" business. So, theoretically, in your mind, it's cool to just out every CIA agent who happens not to be covert at the time you are leaking their names to the world. (or, if it were a Democratic administration, I guess the phrase would end, "...leaking their names to our enemies.") Everybody knows Libby was the fall guy for the administration. Long story short, the administration was ticked off that somebody (Wilson), had the nerve to expose the shocking truth to the world that the administration lied about Iraq seeking materials needed to construct WMD's from Niger. We'll probably never know how high up the chain of command the order originated to out Plame, but Libby fell on his sword nicely. The backlash against Fitzgerald the prosecutor is sickening. Oh, by the way, the reason nobody cares is exactly what Renee is getting at...there's no sex. A former president lies about a personal dalliance and he's crucified by the media. People were obsessed with something that happened that had no life or death consequences whatsoever. The current president launches a war against a nation that never attacked us, based on false and/or misleading information he gave the nation and Congress, and he gets off scott free. Go figure. |
