Is this the list so far?

Mrweber

Strates

Christy

CJ

Steve

Ross (Steve’s friend)

Darbaugh

Rick

Amber

Amber’s sister

that would make 10. We should be able to come up with 2 more. I know James' name was thrown out there but he hasn't chimed in.
I think we should just pay the volunteer fee so we don't have to mess with any of that. Just my opinion.

Yup, that's right.  I like that idea.. it's only 30/person.

George (Bobby Lamonte) has some folks who did AOR that might be interested too.  We can work on James too

Okay, I sent out my address and lots of info that I've discovered so far about the relay.  If you didn't get the email, let me know.. it was unintentional, I promise

I haven't heard from darbaugh or mrweber, are you guys still in?

Any team name ideas you want to throw around on the forum (remember you get posting points for these )

I wanted to give everyone here an update also the the rental van situation.  A highschool/college friend of mine works with Enterprise and said he could help me out with a 15 person Van.  Since his location that he works in typically doesn't rent those types of vans he wasn't 100% sure on the price point but something around $100 (typical) price for a day per van, which can get really pricey.

Now the sweet part.  With his employee discount we would be looking at something much much cheaper.  Roughly around 250-300ish for the two vans for the whole weekend.  So needless to say its a pretty good deal.

So if we can find a church van that would obviously be better but this will always be an option!

$300-ish for two vans split by 12 is only $25 or so a person!

I've got some irons in the fire on the van issue as well. Where I work has a bunch of 15-pax vans, which Being GOV vehicles are not typically available for use. But... we'll see what we can do. No promises, just letting everybody know that it's a possibility.

Also, have we filled out the 12-person roster? The more I talk about this with people, the more interest is generated, and I may be able to bring in a couple more fun-lovin' folks for the event. If we don't need runners, I have a few friends that may show up as either a driver or volunteers. So, I'll keep talking to people, and keep you guys updated on both fronts.

Lastly, to publicly answer the conditioning questions. I have run one 10k officially timed race, finished in 52:12. I'm probably 9-9:30 min/mi runner. That may improve by the end of September, but I can comfortably run that pace for upto 10 miles over varied terrain.

No team name ideas rattling around yet. Perhaps a team happy hour is needed to for some brain storming?

A team happy hour sounds great   Lets pick either next Wednesday or next Friday at the green turtle in Columbia (they have margaritas right?) and you all can give me your $ then.  After a few rounds I'm sure we could think of some good costumes too

Does Wednesday the 17th or Friday the 19th work better for everyone?

I'm on vacation next week. Friday I'll be out of town. Wednesday might be doable.

Not sure if either is good for me.  Maybe Friday if we can get a sitter.

My 10k PR is 39 and change, but that was 3 years ago.  I'm probably closer to 38 now (at least I was before these last 2 weeks of inactivity).

But are they looking for a PR or average pace??  My average training 10k pace is around 44 or so.

I'd say Wednesday for me.  Any locations that people prefer?

Rick - It's your most recent 10k pace.  Basically they use it to calculate the projected team pace, so I would say what you project your 10k pace to be around race time would be the best # to use.

Everyone - Greene Turtle in Columbia, Wednesday June 17th, 5:30 PM (or whenever you get there after 530).  I'll send it out on e-mail too.

Okay, just to be on the safe side, we'll go with 39:00 for my time and split the difference for what I think I "could" do and my older PR.

I'll try to make it on Weds., but the wife has something on Weds. evenings so probably not going to make it.

Absolutely, yes!  5:30pm Weds at the Green Turtle in Columbia (link is in previous post on this thread).

We have to come up with a team name!  And I'll bring my color-coded spreadsheet of the legs for everyone to look at and get a feel for what everyone wants to run.  And I'll bring a contact list for everyone.

I'll send out my cell in the email incase anyone has a problem finding it.

Heres some other ideas that came up today:

Toga's
Gladiators
Cavemen

all with a triathlete theme. (swim goggles and caps, bike helmets, arm/leg sleeves, etc.)

I dug up a couple more runners at work. Jimmy and Karen said they are definitely in, and are both fairly strong runners. I will get the money from them ASAP.

If nobody else is going to fill out the team, then I've got a couple other people that have expressed some interest as well.

Awesome on the new peeps!  Can you give me a 10k pace for them?

I really like the "Live free or tri harder" but I'm not sure how us girls will get dressed up like bruce willis...

What about the Incredibles?  Those costumes would actually work well for running in.

I'm going to find out if we can change our team name once we sign up - cause I am going to sign us up this week and I don't think we'll have decided on a theme by then.
