Races planned for this year...
I've already done 2 events and have 10 more planned.  Two of those are bike tours...one 3 day and one 4 day event.

May - Half Mary
June - metric century bike
July - 5k run, 5k OWS, Sprint Tri
August- Bike tour of the Cascade Mt Passes, 1 mile OWS
September - Bike tour of the San Juans, 25 mile cycling event(maybe 40 or 62 miles), HIM

Summary...
one half mary
2 bike events
2 bike tours
2 open water swims
2 sprint tris
1 HIM

Ambitious, no?

Hey guys,

Sorry I have been MIA...but I pretty much got slammed in the past 2 weeks with a clinical elective and committee meetings. So my training has been less than exceptional. I havent updated my logs in a few days...I think I`ll need to rethink some of the goals as well...tomorrow is my last crazy day (hopefully) and then it should get back to `normal".

Hope everyone elses goals are going well!

Has anyone paid for their photos from their races?  I haven't, but wanted to for my first tri.  Unfortunately, they did a good job of putting a big "proof" watermark right over all the pictures, so I can't get them for free.  I just wanted the digital copy...but that's going to cost me $20.

There are only 2 pictures of me...one pushing my bike into T2...I look kinda dumb...and one of me finishing...but I didn't know the camera guy was there...so I was looking at my watch hitting the stop button.

Well...maybe at my next tri I'll make sure to pose.

Got another trainer ride done.  I wish I could have gone for a ride outside.  It is FRIGGIN' GORGEOUS outside!!!!  No one to look after the baby while I ride.  Oh well.  I had a great workout.  I did one of JorgeM's workouts.  They are killers.

Second that!  Anyone looking for a great trainer program needs to check these workouts out.

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-24 5:14 PM Well as you can see I made it home from my commute.  Even stopped for some refueling - Pizza and a muffin on the way.  That is training for TransIowa - have to make sure the stomach can handle that stuff on the bike.  Food is key when you are on the bike for 24+ hours! - LOL

Hahaha... That is definately a unique fueling regiment and some gastrointestinal fortitude!

Got my swim in today.  Why does the swim always feel so crappy after running?  I always feel heavy when I workout in this order.  Ironically, despite this feeling, I had one of my best paces during a ten minute and five minute swim (1:35/100).  I'm pretty happy with these times.  Hopefully, I can transfer my pool work and times to the open water.

there are ways you can get the pic without 'proof'.

right click on it and a menu with pop up...
choose page info
click the media tab on the top of pop up window
scroll through the list and you will find the image without the water mark. You can usually click on the different items and see a preview.

The picture quality won't be as good as a purchased photo, but it will be without a watermark.

I already tried something like that.  You can't right click anywhere in the page.  These guys are getting smart.

Ok, I had to laugh when I read this cuz my hubby calls me a camera poser. I am lucky enough to have my hubby and kiddo come to all but one of my races so he always takes pics for me. Funny thing is, I'm ALWAYS smiling. In every single picture (even the "professional" ones), I am smiling! Well, except the one where I thought I was coming into the finish line only to find that I had another 1/2 mile to go (and let me tell you..that was the longest 1/2 mile ever!) Hence the "camera poser" comments. I've asked him numerous times if the thought has ever crossed his mind that maybe I actually love racing. He just looks at me and rolls his eyes. I realize now that I will never be able to convince him!

However, to answer your question...yes, I paid for photos of my first race here in HI. It wasn't a tri but I still paid for them! Maybe you'll get lucky enough to have Tesh Teshima take your picture. They didn't take any pics of me during Val Nolasco last year (my 1st 1/2 mary and the one race hubby didn't come to) so I was pretty bummed. I got a picture of me crossing the finish line in the mail with nothing but a return address so I googled ole Tesh and found that he goes to races around here, takes pics, then sends them to their owner for free. Pretty cool, huh? Moral of the story? No need to google Tesh if you ever get a picture of yourself in the mail!

First rule of racing.  NEVER NEVER click the stop button on your watch until you are ACROSS the finish lines.  The camera will catch that EVERY time!!!!

Well, fellow twisters.  I thought I was going to struggle to make my goals earlier this month, but I've hunkered down and have all about 10 miles of running left.   I'll make it to the 100% mark.

Will you???

I see we're ahead of the beasties in both the primary and secondary challenge, but we need to buck up and WIN this thing.

That is all....
