Hey gang:

Here's a new thread for us to finish out the month - a week and a few bonus days! I've turned in our stats, so when the totals are posted, PLEASE double check your numbers on the spreadsheet. I don't always remember to translate yards to meters, and sometimes can't add....let me know if anything needs correcting! Have a super week - and send me some cooler weather - still around 100 here which is weird.

I wanted to let everyone know that I'm back from vacation and that we had a great time. We spent half the time in Jackson Hole and the other half in Yellowstone National Park, both are in Wyoming. (For non-US types a state in the Rocky Mountains). We did a lot of hiking, went on a white water rafting trip, rodes horses, went on a chuck wagon dinner trip and saw a lot of animals, including buffalo, moose, elk, deer and coyotes. (No bears) I really enjoyed having an active vacation versus sitting on the beach. I was able to do a few runs and one swim session when it rained but I didn't get in a mountain bike ride. My wife doesn't like mountain biking and I didn't want to ditch the family. Anyway, I'll post some pictures in my album this weekend.

Now, everyone get out and train hard this weekend. Keep on swimming.

Ernie

I like how ernie always tells us to swim. Reminds me of Dory. *sings* Just keep swiming, just keeeeeeep swimming

I know I'm a little behind, but I PROMISE I will make it to 100% this month. Just gotta kick my butt in gear for the next 5 days. But MARK MY WORDS, I will do it.

Sorry I haven't been around much this month, team. But I will try to hit the inspires tomorrow. I'm out the door right now.

Go team 10!

Ann,

Not sure if you need totals for the week, as we are almost done with the month. But, here's mine:

Bike: 16h 31m 52s - 275.64 Mi
Run: 9h 9m 33s - 61.2 Mi
Swim: 4h 41m - 10809.14 Yd

I just need 8.8 miles of running the next 3 days for 100% on everything. I should make it but I've got a business trip from Tues afternoon til Thursday afternoon. I hate when they make me go to San Diego, The things we do for our country.

Thanks Ernie and Chris...I think we're just doing EOM totals, but I've put yours in the spreadsheet just in case. Chris, I am guessing a typo in your post and that you actually swam 2000m, not 200m? How AWESOME to finish your goals ahead of time, eh?

Ernie - you just ROCK...I don't think I could have kept with the program like you did on that vacation....you are a good role model for me on planning....

Now for me, I got another 28 minutes of swimming left before I hit 100% in all 3 - but I expect I'll crank it out tomorrow morning when DS is in school. I can't believe I got a little seasick in my pool today, but we have fairly strong jets in a circular patter that hits you with a cross current, and after ten minutes or so a good wave pattern built up and well....I am a seasick kinda person so I felt queazy for the last half of my half hour!

You should see when I go diving, I have to be last off the boat and go right down. Underwater I am fine but on top lookout. I can't snorkle at all....

Anyway, I digress...I hope all the rest of you TENS are ready to hit some time and make some good numbers in the next few days because I KNOW WE CAN WIN!!!!!

Thanks for all being here and supporting me and helping me reach a bit, too...what a summer it's been being a TEN!

Hey Team

I'm back from my course and I've made all my totals (well apart from the bike but thats been excluded from my totals coz of injury)

So for the month here's my totals

Swim 320 mins, Run 415mins and Core 640 mins!

I made all my totals and passed them all too! (as a result of not being able to ride for most of the month)!

Thanks guys for all the wonderful support and encouragement every day .  This team is great!

I'm sorry guys. I feel really bad. I'm not going to make my totals for this month. There is no way I can run 10 miles today w/o injuring myself, and I really don't want to have to drop out of my Sept 11 tri.

I will hit the gym later today and do my personal Woody (still haven't done that yet). But I'm not going to even try to push myself into completing all my goals for the month. I set them a little high on purpose, and now I've found that I can't make them because of these dang shins. I'm going to get as close as possible, but I don't want to hurt myself.

Dang school is getting in the way too.

*sulks away feeling depressed*

Oh Miss Jodi no need to skulk! You are doing great and instead of looking at what you *haven't* done, take a look at what you HAVE done - it's a LOT!!!

You are being smart and taking good care of you, and that's a LOT more important than hitting some arbitrary number.

I speak from the experience of a tibial stress fracture I got when I did NOT listen to my body and instead tried to make the numbers....you are doing the right thing and WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

Have a super WOOODY....whatever distance it is!

i'm copying my log jibberish here...

I did my woody (i forgot the BT origin of this, and i'm hoping that i have the name right!!). I did my bike ride this morning, where it was cut short (in the attempt to make my goal) by a wipeout. Bike is at the shop and will be ready tomorrow. The derailiuer bent out of shape and the brake pads askew, (elbow scraped and hip bruised).  Later in the afternoon, when I took my son to football, I used the track adjacent to field for my run. Drove right to the ymca and did a few laps. Got home and stretched and did some strength! I missed the bike goal by a few miles!!

Sorry gang...missed the %100 by a few miles, but this was incredible and i surpassed any goal i could have possibly done without the challenge and most especially Team 10!!

All,
Stuck using my treo for this. Hit all my goals, finished my run this morning. Totals: Bike 275.60 Run 70 & Swim 10809

For Jodi, the purpose of the challenge is to push ourselfs. I think you did great to do more than you have before. Your going to do great on the 11th. Nikki, I'm amazed at how much you're able to do as a single mom. Ann, thanks for being the Capt again. I really enjoyed this month.

WHAHOO TENS!!!!

We came in second place behind Team Yeungling by just 0.7% - you guys are just AWESOME! What a feat to pull that off - we had some intense final weeks and I really appreciate all the hard work and effort you each put into the challenge.
What a great team! I love you all!!!!

Hey Jodi! We're all a team and we're all equally a part of our total, so no bad feelings!

Also, Jodi corected me on her CORE goals which I had listed as 360 minutes, it should have been 240 minutes. That bumps us to 92.5% of goal for our team average. Still in second place but now by .3%!!! What a SUPER team you all are - thanks!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone on team 10! I finished my first triathlon on sunday in 1:20:58, 10 minutes under my goal of 1:30!!! I probably wouldn't have stuck with the training program if not for this site and my awesome team. Thanks again everybody!!
