Now - before you over-react - No, this does not belong in Tri-Talk.

So anyway - the other day 2Goggs, Rynamite (who is no longer on this board) and I were talking about Goggs HIM and Ryna said something that got us all thinking (on accident, we never think on purpose).  He said the only way that I would do a 70.3 is with a Jet-Ski, Dirt Bike (motorcycle) and Rollerblades.  We all laughed about it.

Later, I started thinking.  How long would that race have to be?  What would be the unique issues with such a race (besides the astronomical insurance part)?  Wouldn't you have to have a very flat piece of land for the Roller Blade but a fairly hilly bit of land for the Dirt Bike, plus a fairly large lake to make it so you were not dominating the whole area, yet allowing for a race of less than 30 laps on the Jet Ski.

Ponder and discuss!

I think you guys experienced the rare only time you're going to find Tony2Goggs as the most dedicated "triathlete" in a group of three, and that all of you have too much time on your hands.

Cool

Wow - that was brutal.  I guess I should change the name of my organization, huh?

Might I suggest Triathletes for making Tony look like He Trains?

Diito on what bear said.

The place you're looking for is Kincaid Lake outside Alexandria, LA. Lake big enough for racing jetskis, roads flat enough for the blades (NTTAWWT). and trails hilly enough for the bikes (though I don't want youse guys messing up my hometown trails).

Never been, but the question always comes up as to why there's no triathlon held there. Answer is usually because there is no power and water there to tap into. Not sure if that is true, or if it be a deterrent to this type of event.

Good question, it would be great for a race. Facilities is my guess, but there are a couple areas that could work. Kinda funny that there's a tri just across the river in Pineville at a much smaller, not-nearly-as-big-or-nice park/lake.

I've done that Pineville race, and it's a good, well-organized race at a decent venue. But everyone says Lake Kincaid would be an awesome venue.
