Any suggestions on a vest? Daylight savings is right around the corner. It will be dark at 4 pm.

Brooks has a whole line of very bright, reflective gear called Nightlife.  I have the heavier weight jacket and a vest.  They're blinding if its not dark out.  I call it my "if I get hit in this they were blind and I was meant to die" jacket.

I have the same jacket. The light weight one. I want a blinking LED vest or jacket. I have seen mixed reviews on Amazon. I want to look like a beacon on the night road!!!

Nobody asked me when they decided to call it "daylight savings" time.  I'm not much of an early bird, so it's more of a "daylight losses" time.  Off topic...

REI has a good selection of headlamps for running, if you're like me and hate indoor treadmill training.

Good thread. I'm a fairly new runner (started in July) and have discovered I really dislike running on treadmills, and would rather be outside, even if its frikkin' freezing (as Dr. Evil may say). I need a vest & a light. Good things to look at here.

Buy a MARS3.0 bike blinkie or a Planet Bike Superflash bike blinkie. ($25ish)

Clip it to the back of a baseball-style cap, and you're absolutely 100% visible from the rear and sides. I use this and when I see cyclists with it on their bike, it's amazingly visible at night. These are the two brightest 2xAA blinkies you can get.

For the front, any LED headlamp will suffice. Use a FENIX 2xAA L2D LED flashlight with a headstrap if you run faster than 7:30min/mile at night - at that speed, none of the Petzl headlamps are adequate.

That's because winter is Standard time.  The Daylight Saving time is in the summer.  And since I work 10 hour days I don't see daylight during the winter on work days.  Except that I just started today doing a short lunch time run just so I can get some vitamin D 2 of those days each week.  The other 2 days will be me, my headlamp and my fabulous jacket or vest.  Weekends are reserved for skiing. Sealed
