One good blow from the east pushes all that warm water out and lets the nice brisk water take it's place. My wife did this race a few years ago (before I started joining her ) and all week the water was in the upper 60's/low 70's. We had a rainstorm the night before the race and on race morning the lake was smooth as glass, and 53 degrees.....in July. They almost cancelled the swim just because of the water temp. |
