Way to go all you T'weeker Pinkers. I think all members have accounted for their pink square.

If you're like me and motivated more by the fear of ridicule and scorn of people around you if you fail, than by your inner soul, this is a great club to be in. The public humiliation of members falling by the wayside that is being planned by President Mary and VP Ovetta is really keeping me on track!!!!!

CAN I GET A PINKIE LINK FROM THE MEMBERSHIP? YEAH!

Gary,

Could you enlighten me on what this thread is all about? What are pinkie links? Are you guys tuning up for a race?

It's a bunch of people (all are welcome) who are having lack of motivation and we have committed to having a pink square in the training log every day for 2 weeks.  And we're checking up on each other - hence the humiliation factor.  The pinkie link is the secret hand shake (or finger shake as the case may be)

I got my pink today!

Its the opposite of getting ready for a race for most of us - it's a way to get re-motivated POST-race. Or at least that was the plan in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago. The theory (I think) is to just focus on doing something 1 day at a time (ie-getting your pink square) for a 2 week period. Join in!!!

There are some, like Daryl, who are getting ready for a race. Join in anytime you want. Our plan is to take over the world (at least thats what BootyGirl and InfoSteward are planning).

This was not my idea - I'm only a puppet in this regime

man, I can't even get some sleep without getting slandered or something! I don't want to take over the world, just regain good habits lost in my rest week (s)....

I'll have a pink square tonight for sure!

We have out-of-town guests coming in today, but both the BF and I are in high-gear for this weekend's races, so they'll just have to entertain themselves for an hour or so!

One question, I'm supposed to be tapering this week. I've been doing long, easy, slow runs, and tonight will be a brick. But tomorrow really should be a rest day. If I concentrate on cadence during my morning and afternoon bike commute, can I count that?

Hi, Can I join in? I have fallen flat. I did something for the last two days. I want to keep it up. The pool here on base is busted so that is out for a while. :-( But I have other things.

I am pink today too!! Ran for 57:39!!! I started my run down the highway out of town and came to where a bear crossed the road, (there were wet, muddy, large foot prints). Since it looked as though he (she) was crossing towards me and at me, I assumed (wrongly) that he was behind me. As I kept checking over my shoulder every couple of minutes, I soon ran into him, just ahead , eating greenery out of the ditch about 50 feet from me. Well, he looked up at me, and I looked at him, and he didn't move (a small boar, I figured by his size, but I have seen sows with cub(s) who look that size, so I crossed the highway and flagged down the first car I saw and hitched a mini ride down the highway for a km or so. The guy must of thought I was insane!!! I said thanks and carried on down the highway. Had a great run and ended with a big hill.

I ran in the mountains in Montana on vacation at end of June and was worried about it, but never had a problem. You're a TRUE T'weeker!!!!!! Gimme a pinkie link!!!!!!!

Thanks Gary, I think I deserve a double pinkie for today's effort. I was kinda ready to see one, actually I'm always ready to see one. I'd rather see bear than cougar any day!!!! Just part of life up here in the woods!!!

Thanks for the pressure guys!! Even though it was storming here and there was no way to run, bike or swim, I did manage to do the eliptical trainer :-O for 45min @ 9:00pm after putting kids to bed. I guess if it wasn't for y'all I would've slumped and I'd never make it to my September tri!!

I agree Don, I just finished a 3 mile run (10:45 pm EST) that I would not have done if it were'nt for the challenge. But I PINKED!!! 2 down 12 to go.

I have had a lot of fun with this, but in all seriousness, thanks Mary, Ovetta, and you others who started this thing Monday nite. I'd probably still be "recovering" from my race.

/Gary

I did my first-ever BRick! Three laps around the lake (2.5 miles) and then a 20 minute run! I kicked butt on the bike too. I came in at 15 mph average, which is really good considering I'm on a mountain bike with knobby wheels, and that there are two BIG hills to go up and then down, but you can't go fast on the downhills because of all the walkers and tight turns!

I'm psyched for my race on Saturday.

BUT... I've been told by Coach BF that I can't do anything on Friday, and that I shouldn't do anything tomorrow. So, I will only be able to count my bike commute in my "workout" square. Can I still stay in the group?

Off to have some pizza now!

Yes, this challenge is the only thing that is making me go up to my attic RIGHT NOW to bike on my trainer for 45 min at 9:15 pm.

So... thank God for the challenge!!

BTW... soreness has dissipated... only unhealed blisters remain!! (o:

All right - I think I should win an award at the end of this for consistently being the last person to post that I got my workout in A good friend was in town last night, and after she left at 10, I ran up and down the hill at the end of my street a few times. Probably only about a mile, but it's better than nothing, right??

And without this challenge, I guarantee I would've just gone right to sleep!!
