I'm sure right around Bob's, if not faster. If Bob is a fish, then Jim is the fish that Bob is chasing.

Wade passed me where I was working at mile 111 close to 4PM or so.  He was looking good.  Alice took out FIRST masters female with a 5:36:XX for the HIM.  

The weather was amazing today.  Cool (ok, well, cold) this morning, but great as soon as the sun came up.  No clouds to be seen.  No wind to be felt.   

Well, 11:20 and with the training I have been doing I'll take it!! The swim was crazy fast, I was 3rd out of the water at 45:59 on my watch. I couldn't find Jim's feet, I heard the first guy was 4 min ahead and I assumed that was probably Jim. Although 46 min sounds fast you could have don 1:00 treading water out there the current was so fast.

I didn't recognize anyone on the course. I think I may have seen Wade out there but I wasn't sure. The day was perfect aside from the freezing water and 42 degree air temp for the swim.

Congrats to everyone that finished and competed!!

I went browsing for results but they're not up yet. There's no reason why it can't be up!!

I did find this:

"3) Is it true that this swim will be WITH the current?
Yes. The swim is set so that the tide will be incoming. Thus, we expect some extraordinarily fast swim times."

3) Will this event have live tracking of athletes for family members to view status on-line?
No. This service is costly and this event will not have this ability in 2008. We are looking into this service for future years and will work to find innovative ways to keep family members at the finish line area updated on as many athletes as possible.

Just got back from Wilmington...what a great weekend! Yeah...I went 10:21...46:37 swim, 5:33 bike and 3:48 run. Bob beat me out of the water, but I left transition before he did. He passed me out on the bike and we road together for a while before I dropped my chain. A few minutes later, I passed him--he was on the side of the road dealing with a flat.

I'll post more later, but it was a beautiful course and a nearly flawless event, which is saying a lot for a first year race that was by all accounts a logistical nightmare.
