Does anybody know of an LBS/Tri shop in the vague Tempe vicinity from whom I could rent a set of race wheels?

These guys are not in the Tempe area - but they do a great job - reasonably priced and very realiable. I believe they do not charge you to ship them to you - you just have to pay to ship them back. Worth taking a look at anyways.....

Ugg.....I was just looking a little more on their site...it looks like they may be sold out for IMAZ. You may want to email Marc his email is under contacts.....he is very helpful and may have something for you or may be able to send you in a different direction.

At the IMAZ expo this year, there was a tent that had race wheels for rent.

I believe Tribe rents wheels.

Their website is underconstruction, but you can call or email Kevin.

Thanks guys for the info. Tri-it - I just emailed Marc at racdaywheels.com, and this is what he wrote back:

"No we have not taken any rentals for 2007 yet. And will start on Dec 1st. there will be a new form to fax in and will be up the last week of November.

I will email you when its up a few days before.

Can you post this on the grapevine."

To all who are interested, it looks like next year's wide open for them.

I used racedaywheels for IM WI last month and was very happy.

Just a word of caution: The wheels do not come with skewers so you will either have to use the ones off of your current wheels or buy new ones for the rentals. And you will also have to provide your own cassette, so be prepared with the proper tools to install and then remove the cassette before shipping back or have the bike crew at the race site remove it for a small fee.

Just to let you know~

Tribe Multisport does rent a front tri spoke and rear disc. However they only rent 3 pairs so they get reserved at a very early date.
