gary0958 - 2008-05-08 6:29 PM Hey guys , FYI the lake was 80 two weeks ago and 81 this last sunday.

We will need to take a collective pee in it to cool it off.

Maybe not, that is warm water.

The 'collective pee' would warm it up, not cool it off. Frown

I signed up in January 2008 for this race.

Somber moment seeing that there was a death at GCHIM last weekend.  I hope everyone is safe this weekend.

I think I'm going to try to do Lucky's swim.

Safety in numbers, right?

I love the quote "Enter the lake enter the food chain".

1k and a slow pace should be just right.

Leaving tomorrow afternoon, will be doing Lucky's lake swim on Friday and Sat morning (sure I'll see a lot of people there). And if anyone else raised money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation, I hope to see you at the breakfast Sat. morning. Safe travels to all!

We have a cabin at Ft Wilderness and will be staying there. We're bringing food to cook (full kitchen).  Just having a nice, relaxing, keep the nervous energy to a minimum day.  I don't plan on leaving the FW area till I"m on my bike soaking wet.

If you wanna come hang, call me and I'll let you know where we at.   Panout and her hubby will be close by.

I will be driving from Atlanta to Orlando Friday morning. Silver Nissan Pathfinder and I will likely write "70.3 Here I Come!" on the back windshield.

I plan on joining you guys on the Saturday morning swim.

I got my cortisone shot on my hip today to alleviate the Hip Bursitis I have had for the past 40 days.

See ya!

How many pictures of yourself do you take?  Is that normal for a coach?

I am leaving the same time from ATL.  I'll be rolling it trucker style...a cooler full of food and a milk jug for necessities.  OK, maybe not, on the milk jug but I don't like to stop.

I will at the Sat morning swim.  I suggest that you wear a raw chicken breast in your shorts, it will get you moving faster than drafting.

SOme of my training buddies - well at least one of them - and I are going to try to hit Lucky's on Saturday. If you need directions to anywhere or suggestions of restaurants, etc. look us up. E. will be a beautiful tall blond with white swim cap doing breaststroke faster than a lot of folks freestyle. I will be a more rounded and shorter (and older) mom-looking person with brown hair, probably trying out my new pink flowered tri top.

And if you want to catch a cool baseball game, my 6yr old is playing tball at 10am at the Y nearby

Good luck and have fun here in Orlando!

Hey everyone, here in O-Town. Good to be back but god its gotten crowded since we moved away 5 years ago!!
Anyway....its HOT!!! Be ready for that on the run and make sure you fuel well on the bike.
Drink, drink drink.
A nice little rain shower on the run might feel good.
Heading over to Disney this afternoon for package pick-up, then checking into the hotel.
Look for ya at the pool, under the palm tree, in the shade...Comfort Suites Maingate West on st rd 192.

have fun everyone!!!

A friend of mine will be volunteering at the finish line, Tara is her name.  She's very tall and thin with dark hair.  Her hubby is in for the half and it's his first, Todd Konecny, bib #2333.  Be nice and say "HI".  They are driving in from New Orleans and are really nervous and excited.

Be safe out there this weekend and have a great time!!!

Good morning from Orlando!!!
Sunny skies greeted me at 5:30am as I headed to the hotel pool for a light swim.
It was nice to have the pool to myself before all the little screamers woke up to see Mickey.
Looks like WIND will be the story tomorrow. Calling for 15-25mph from the WSW. Looking at the bike route, it looks like the first half will be the fastest with a steady head wind for the last half back to T2.
A 40% chance of a thunderstorm starting around mid-day could cool things off on the run.
Temps to be around 90 in the afternoon with higher humidity, should make the run interesting.
Heading over the bike check-in around 10:30, then planning on relaxing around the hotel pool, drinking gatorade/water mix in the shade.
Planning a early dinner at Carrabba's around 5pm if anyone is in the area and would like to join in.
Hope everyone is excited and ready for a SAFE, FUN, race in the morning.
Best to all,

FM
