Pre-race routine:

Drove up the night before. Picked up packets. Got to sleep around midnight. Woke up at 6AM. Had a bagel and some cereal. Forgot the prerace meds (ibuprofen). Stretched a little bit.
Event warmup:

Jumped up and down, jooged up and back a block or so. It was COLD! By the time the race started I couldn't feel my hands.

Comments:

This was a pretty good run. I wasn't ready to run the whole thing, so I walked some of it. I was unclear where the race actually ended, and stopped too soon, so the two people I had passed, passed me back. Meant at least one age group place.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. If I could have run the whole thing, my time would have been a lot better. Also, the ice and snow limited my ability to run any faster than I did.

Warm down:

Walked back to the parking garage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It snowed 5 inches last night and the roads and trails were slushy and icy. I was sure they would cancel the race, or we'd be the only ones there :)

Event comments:

The event was well organized, and I would do it again. Just wish it hadn't been so COLD! Also, there were no mile markers, and I think that would have helped psychologically.
