My most embarrassing moment at the pool involved wearing some old (very loose) swim shorts and mooning a bunch of sixth graders on the first push off the wall--they were all lined up, sitting on the wall, feet dangling in the water, watching me. Unfortunately the tiles that have the pool depth number painted on them can be very slippery. Fortunately, when I slipped I landed in the water, otherwise I probably would have been carted out on a backboard. No way to impress the ladies. |

Just to show off I used to run across the yard and dive in head-first right over the rail. That was great fun until the time I slipped in wet grass and crashed into the side of the pool, broke the top rail and made the pool wall collapse. A whole lot of water in the yard all of a sudden, and some splainin' to do when the 'rents got home. |
