Speed suits in 70.3 races?

Extreme Veteran  549   Marietta, GA |  Subject: Speed suits in 70.3 races?Are speed suits allowed in any triathlon? Or just ironman races? More specifically, will they be allowed in the Florida 70.3 race? I'm a gear head and would like to use one if they are legal. Also, would anyone who's used one recommend/not recommend for a half iron? (I'm an average swimmer). Thanks, T.J. |

Cycling Guru 15134  Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Speed suits in 70.3 races? As far as I know, you will able to use a wetsuit at the FL 70.3 race ..... if I recall correctly they have in the last few years. Perhaps someone can chime in that has done it recently? |

In 2007 water temperature was over 82 degrees easily, however, I don't remember the exact temperatures. All I know it was HOT HOT HOT. So I wouldn't count on the race being wetsuit legal this year. From my experience, each brand can fit differently on your body type. I ended up with the QR Hydrofull and absolutely LOVE IT! |

I assume that you have your race suit on under it and you just strip it in T1. correct? How easy is the "strip?" |
