So...we're in River North and the past few months we've been using the Chicago Park District's indoor pools for our weekly swims. Prior to that we were at the New City YMCA (which has since been torn down). Pretty much we've been swimming on pennies...which is really all we've needed.

At this juncture, it's starting to become a waste of time to get all the way there only to not be able to swim for one reason or another and not by our own accord (tonight was example #475 of this). It's super frustrating...and it's not like we can go hop in lake michigan right now either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where we can go for access to an indoor pool that won't break the bank? We're looking into gyms, but I want to make sure we're not overlooking anywhere obvious. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?

I think any gym in the city a pool is going to cost $$$... unless of course the Y.

You can try Lifetime in Skokie.  It might be pricey but it probably has a nice pool.  I belong to Lifetime and love their pool, but I don't go to the Skokie one but I assume it's nice.

Other than that, I don't know of much.  I used to go to LakeShore Athletic club on Ontario, but that was $$$ and their pool was tiny as well as their gym.

Cool.

We're doing a trial at FFC through my company. Looks like they've got a junior olympic pool which will do the trick for now.

I also completely forgot that we can go to Bally's since we're with TNT. Although from the ones I've seen I may be a little skeeved out over it.

If we could commute to Lifetime Fitness we'd do it in a heartbeat. Those facilities are great.

There's a lake somewhere around here. That'll be open in a month. Until then, just get trial memberships to gyms all over the place.

Running tonight (Tuesday)!!!
