Just wondering in anyone knew if the Florida 70.3 participants could swim in the lake the days leading up to the race? I have heard a rumor that you could do some open water swimming in Bay Lake but I'd really like someone to confirm that for me and let me know where we are able to swim.

Thanks in advance!

If Bay Lake is the lake the race is in, then no. The race swim venue is not open for open water swims in the days before or after the race (at least it hasn't been in past years). If Bay Lake is not where the race is then I have no answer for you. But if you are looking for a place to swim, there is a lake a short drive from the Disney area that folks have done open water swims in the past before the race. It is called Luckys Lake (luckyslakeswim.com)

The althetes guide posted on the race website says no swimming in the lake prior to race day.  The lake is Bay Lake.

Generally Gatorade sponsors an open water swim at the venue the day or two before.  I didn't see it on this years schedule though.  I did the race a few years ago and they did schedule an hour or two for swimming each of the two days prior to the race.

If you can get to Lucky's - do it. It is always a blast when triathletes are in town! Lucky is a most unique guy, and he and the family very generous to open up their yard and beach to swimmers 6 days a week! The swim is great and the water very nice. You can shower there in his pool area as well, and hit breakfast nearby.

We locals love to see the visitors - I'm going to try to get there Sat if DSs tball schedule allows.
