If you get a chance you should go to Smith Rock State Park outside of Terrebone. It's about a 40min. drive from Bend and it is known for it's rock climbing but there are several beautiful trails for all different hiking levels. Are you looking for outdoor types of things to do or just in general? I work in Bend and live in Redmond about 25min. away.

Here's who I would recommend:

http://www.goclimbing.com/  I've never personally used them but I've talked with a few of the guides and they seem knowledgeable and safe.

Also, although Smith is a world class climbing destination, if you can't arrange a climb theres also some good hikes in the area.  Misery ridge is a good climb that leads you up and over the top of Smith Rock.  On clear days there are some great view's of the surrounding mountains.  There's also the river trail that runs all the way around smith.  They're both about a half day + hikes.
