Let's make an everyday behavior legal. When's the last time you've seen a biker get tagged for running a stop sign?

I hate to say it, but when I am riding into work at 4:30 AM I do this. On the way home, there is to much traffic for me to even think about it. I always think safety first.

Same here. I am lucky enough to only have one light on my 10-mile commute, but it is where the SW LRT crosses Excelsier Blvd, and at 0530, with no cars around, that light takes forever to change so trail riders can legally cross.

If cyclists want to be treated as a vehicle in all the other laws, I think they need to be held to the same standard. Now, being held to the standard still means you as an individual are free to choose if you stop for that red light at 05:30 (I wouldn't).

When was the last time any of you came to a stop sign in your car, with no other vehicles waiting or in front of you, and actually made a full, honest to god, open the door and dab your foot to the pavement stop!! I remember it very clearly; 11am January 5th, 1974, when I took my drivers exam! I see the local cops blowing stop signs on a regular basis, if 5mph constitutes "blowing" the sign.

I was actually under the impression that rolling stops (at stop signs only) were legal if no cars were around
I always stop and wait for a green light though, any time of the day. Not alot of stop lights on the routes I've been riding lately.
