I'm considering adding aerobars to my Felt F75 and want to make sure I get the fit right before I spend hours riding stretched out. I've got two LBS's that I've used in the Frederick area and like both of them but I'm not that confident that either has that much experience fitting for aero. Any one have a recommendation for a good fitter who isn't too far away?

Thanks and happy Friday, everyone. And if you are racing this weekend, good luck and watch the heat. It is going to be warm out there!

I'd go to NoVA and see Eric at Principle Fitness.

X2

I had my fitting with Eric (Sorenson) at Bonzai Sports, in Falls Church, if that isn't too far for you.

Bringing this thread back to life to give an update on Eric at [the former] Principle Fitness.

Bought my P2C at Bonzai yesterday, and they informed me that as of a few days ago, Eric is no longer with Principle Fitness (which I believe means Principle Fitness is not more, but don't quote me on that).

They said he's now coaching for a different company (didn't get a name) and they don't expect him to be doing bike fits anymore.  Since I paid $200 for a fit with him that included "lifetime adjustments" I hope he can still honor that agreement in his new position.  I'd like to go on my bike and make some minor adjustments - get my fit "dialed in" on my actual bike, not on Eric's fit bike.

I'll keep you posted.

PS - Bonzai had a great price on the P2C, but I left with mixed feelings because they would not credit my fit price to the price of the bike, as had been promised, because they had already reduced the bike for end of year clearance.  When I paid $200 for a fit I was able to swallow it because I was told it would be credited towards my bike purchase.

i would think that would depend on how much they discounted it for "closeout", you can say that you were credited for that fit.  I have seen alot of people advertising roughly 15% off the 2008 P2Cs  so thats around $2125 for ultegra and $2550 for dura-ace.  so if you paid less than that then maybe they did give you some credit? or maybe not.... just an idea.

I paid $2100 which was the price advertised online for anyone. I then brought up the fit credit, and they said I could have it for the sale price or I could have it for full price minus the fit price (more expensive), so I took the sale price (which is a good price). Just wish they had been more explicit that the fit price was only to be credited to non-discounted bikes.

FYI far away, but if you want a SERIOUSLY good fit, go to UVA in Charlottesville and go to the Speed Clinic to see Jay Discharry.  He will spend hours with you, and is really concerned with speed and comfort.  I go to him for all my new bikes.

I just went to see Steve, the owner of Bike Doctor in Arnold, MD and was really impressed. I had the FIST fitting done and ordered up my 2009 Felt B2. Steve also said that he just got the Retul fitting system, which is the same system that Craig Alexander uses. Seemed like a good group of guys at the Bike Doctor and no pressure to buy their bikes.

Wanted to follow up on my post before and say that Eric (formerly of Principle Fitness, now of Cycle Life) agreed to honor the follow up fitting agreement from his previous employment.  We're scheduled to meet at Bonzai in the near future for a tuneup.

Sounds like his new place in Georgetown has some pretty advanced fitting tools available too.

And as a another of the many followups, based on a recommendation I talked to the owner of All American Bikes in Damascus. I liked what he had to say and scheduled a fit last Friday for my new Seduz. I couldn't be happier...not only did he do a great job of walking me through the process but he explained everything, made what I feel are solid recommendations and spent a lot of time with me. If you are like me, and live in Western MD (or even Northern MoCo) and you are looking for a good shop, check them out.
