Subject: LI Gold Coast 2009 Pre-Registration is only 20 bucks!

Charlie (thelunchbox) brought this to my attention and I figured I'd share it with everyone.  You can sign up now at www.ligoldcoasttri.com for June 21st, 2009 for only 20 bucks! 

Of course no one has a crystal ball, so who knows what the future will hold, but God-willing I plan to do tri's for decades to come, so for 20 bucks it was a no-brainer for me to sign-up now.  It was weird entering a calendar event into my Palm Treo for 2009!

According to the website, this offer ends June 30th.  Thanks for the heads-up Charlie.

Wow. Imagine how big those potholes will be a year from now?

Seriously, that's a great deal. Worth it even if I decide not to do it.

Seeing as the LI Gold Coast Tri is a whopping 65 bucks this year!!  I'm feeling like a champ rollin' the dice and paying 20 bucks last June!!

What made me think of this was they just sent me an e-mail, and would you believe they read a bunch of the comments online regarding how badly the food spread sucked and the lack of drinks.  If you guys recall the only thing they had was water and dry bagels!! 

But check out what they said:  (I know it's not a big deal, but it's nice to know they are recognizing the problems and fixing them)

You will see some new things this year including new pick-up locations and route modifications. We have also been reading posts on the various tri websites/blog spots. There will be additional fluids available along the race route and at the finish area. We are also adjusting the run route and will improve the food available at the end of the race. Please continue to check the website at www.ligoldcoasttri.com for the latest!

Smoother roads would be nice.  It was close to being an Xterra race with how crappy the bike course roads were last year.  I dinged a front wheel.

 For twenty bucks this year, I could give a crap about food afterwards!  All I crave after a race is fast food hamburgers and fries.
