Did any BT'ers do this one yesterday? It was my first tri (race report pending) and it was wicked hot.

I did it. Had a great time. Loved the course.

My best friend crashed on the bike and broke his collarbone.

Yes, I seem to remember them making an announcement about that during the awards ceremony. Is he alright, otherwise?

It was a great course- I'll be back next year.

Wow what did they say about him?

Ya, he is ok. Will take 6-8 weeks to heal, and this will probably be his last tri, unless he does the super flat ones in San Diego.

He is in some pain, which you would expect from a broken bone, but they gave him some good drugs.

Just ruined his vacation plans to go to Canada to see his girlfriend. He could still drive or fly up, but he is supposed to get physical therapy, and his insurance wont cover that up in Canada.

Glad you had a good race. Looks like we finished within a couple of minutes of each other.

I was in the Orange and Blue Orange County Tri uniform. Pretty bright colors, hard to miss the uniform.

What is his name? During the awards ceremony, they called for the family of someone who had had a medical emergency. That was about all. Did he fall on the Devil's Canyon descent? I noticed there was a good size pothole about 1/4 of the way down, wonder if that's what did it?

I remember seeing you there. I was wearing a red sleeveless tri top and black bike shorts. I'm 6'3", also pretty hard to miss.

His name is Mike Smith. The most common name in America.

He hit some gravel at the bottom of the hill after going over that one little hill at the bottom of Devils Canyon.

I remember you. I think we took turns passing each other on the run, and I think I saw you once one the bike.

Yes you stood out, and you were one of the targets I was trying to pick off and pass.

You had the bad manners to not stay passed.... wink

I finished in an hour 3 minutes.
