Numbness in Feet

Subject: Numbness in Feet
I just bought my first pair of bike shoes for new clips (Cannondale Diadora Speedracer Women's Bike Shoe Color White - 2008). As I was riding for about 10 minutes I feet becase VERY numb and hurt. I unloosened them and took of my socks and it still happens. Is this normal or do I need wider shoes? Do they make size D for wide bike shoes? I looked on line but I didn't find anything?

Any ideas?

IT could be the width of the shoes or the placement of the cleats on the shoes. Also, have you watched yourself pedal in the mirror yet? I find a lot of the issues with numbness in my right foot come from a combination of the three.
