July 16 - 150 lbs
July 23 - 148.5 lbs

Down 1.5 lbs...doesn't sound like much, but already feels good!

GOOOOD Morning!!

well, we are making serious progress here, i'll contribute with being down 1 lb!!

the cool thing is that even if the scale doesn't show it; things are seriously tightening up 'in the back' so that's a good thing!!

I'm hoping to volunteer at the Danskin even this weekend here in Mass - i have a feeling that will inspire me even more and push the 'spirit of competition'.  hopefully that'll drive me to a bigger number in the loss column next week!!

have a great week everyone!!

Not as much progress as I was hoping for, but I am down a little more than a pound. And like my girlfriend has noticed, I'm certainly 'tighter' than I was before we started. I'm going on vacation tomorrow, which might be bad, or it might be really good. Nice lake, with paved roads and lots of running trails. I will try to make the most of it, and hoepfully not drink lots of beer
I've got a sprint tri next Saturday, so I am try to bust my butt for that, then my halfiron at the end of August (my A race).

Keep up the good work guys!!!!

Yay - down another 1lb I'm happy with that as I thought the 1lb loss after the holiday might have been flukey and thought it might come back to bite me but no need to worry I've lost a further 1lb. I really want to be 3lbs lighter by the 11th August 'cause I start a new job then and to be under 200lb at that stage would be great!! Yay!

Well, finally made it to the scale, 161.6, so down a touch from last week. Pleased with results. Glad to see so many people a) still in this thing and b) chipping away at it. We have 10 more weeks to go, dont give up the ship.....

Have a good week everyone.....

Hi...I'm here.  I didn't forget...just haven't weighed in due to tris.  Finally got a weigh in this past Saturday...241.4.  Down 0.2 from my last weigh in.  Abysmal.  Not suprising, however, considering my eating and training habits of the past few weeks.

I'm trying really hard not to be hard on myself because I'm stressing big time right now, but I can barely find time to post in my own blog...Right now kind of sucks work-wise.  Hopefully will be better soon.  I will try to be more active in the near future. This week looks relatively bleak, though...

Hang in there Maggyruth!!!! Every day, every meal you start with a clean slate and make new and improved choices. Or maybe you can make yourself do 50 jumping jacks before you open the fridge. )

Hey Everyone! Congrats on the progress and a special congrats to Maggie on her tri!!

I'm the same

I'm stuck - eating well and have an average workout schedule.  This must be my normal weight because I haven't been able to budge for the better part of a year.   I've eliminated all the bad carbs and eat only the good ones in the first half of the day.  Tons of veggies and some fruits and lean proteins.  I'm thinking I'm going to have to really kick up the exercise portion of my life if I want to firm up my core.  Here we go....

Until next week!

*big sigh* there are lots of great things about being a chick but every 4 weeks bad things can happen - like a 2lb increase on the scale Frown

I was hoping to stay the same at the worst but maybe I should go back to tracking the calories in - I tend to relax that practice when I start feeling good about things.  Perhaps I need more discipline. (or maybe it was the tailgating at the country music concert this past weekend!!)

Does anyone use an online 'calorie counter'?

Hey guys,

189.5 for me. I'm really excited about my weigh in this week. The last time I cracked 190 was probably 2 1/2 years ago. Its already made a big difference in terms of running and my knees are thanking me. This challenge has helped a lot, it gives me another reason to stay on track. Thanks guys.

Up 1lbs to 149.5

About the on-line food log/calorie counter...I've used FitDay for a long time and it's great! You can also purchase the downloadable version for $30 (it was that much when I downloaded it anyway). I like the off-line version because I travel a lot and it's helps me plan meals while I'm away.

Yee haa! I managed to loose 4.5lb this week. I'm so pleased 'cause I worked really hard at it. I went to my parents at the weekend but still kept up with the logging my food and running in the mornings so it's all paid off. More importantly I've smashed through the 200lb barrier and only have 24lbs left to go for goal!! *meep*

So, I just got back from vacation and it was very heartbreaking to step on the scale. Before I left I weighed myself in at 185, and I get back this morning and I am 195lbs So thats a kick in the pants, but it will certainly be rewarding to work it off.
Looking back at the vacation, I didn't really over eat, but I actually ate normally of the first time in many years. I live a very poor life with lots of crappy food most of the time, so when we went to go stay with my girlfriends dad, we ate like kings (compared to my normal fare anyways).

But we still have 10 (or 9) weeks left, so I am not too discouraged. Just have to get back to the grind, and get my lazy butt back on the bike.

Keep up the good work everyone, numbers are looking great!!
