Aloha all

Im having intenet connection issues at home so I have ben a little inactive. Apologies all. I'll do some log looking this afternoon from work.

Haven't weighed in this week as I did not get to the gym. I'll leave it to next week but my feeling is I'm probably no change. I had a couple of rest days after my weekend race so I am not expecting any loss really this week.

Well done to everyone who is still sticking in loss or not. The real winners are those who keep logging in and watching their goals, taking the rough with the smooth and carrying on taking action. Well done everyone.

Dude nutrition is important, but more important I think is portion control. If you eat a ton of celery, youre gonna weigh a ton.

Its tough, but you can get used to it. As far as "crappy" foods go, I dont know what exactly you mean, but if its stuff like pop, chips, beef jerky, etc., try giving them up 1 at a time.

I decided to give up chips and soda for Lent this past spring. No problem for the 40 days and even now, I rarely eat chips or have soda. Its like I learned I can do without them, I know theyre not good for me, so why go back?

Anyway, youre right, we have 9, 10 weeks to go here, you'll get where you want to go.

Hope everyone's well. I was off diving at the weekend so lots of fried food. I made good choices where I could - especially knocking back the full english breakfasts but I'm back to it now and concentrating on pulling back and packing in the exercise to keep up the weight losses.

In terms of on line weightloss tools I'm a member of weight watchers so use their online resources which I think are great but I know it's not for everyone. I'm really surprised by weight watchers because previously I've done lots of different weight loss plans but this time it seems to be working. That said I think a lot of it has to do with timing - I'm at a point in my life where I'm focussed on this, targets - I have a couple of very, very important targets that I have to meet for my long terms plans, mindset - a switch just seems to have flicked and I am making this part of my life. For the first time in a long time I have chosen to make decisions all the time and everyday to keep my focus. The rewards are definitely worth it.

Aloha all

This week 231 last week 226.6!!! up 4.4 down this week!?!?!? Down 2 for the challenge. So far.....

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH... LOL

Oh well... could put it down to scale malfunction but it must be Paul malfunction. Thought I might have gained but didn't think it was that much.

But I guess that means it's time to re-evaluate my progress.

I am not really all that cut up about it in the great scheme of things. Since I have been back in training I have dropped about 20lbs. My run time has gone from 12 min miles to under 10 min miles. Got Sprint from  127 to 112 and should lower it still at next event (pool swim and shorter bike).

I feel much happier with new goals and I love the plan I am on just now (I love the speed work even though I am not fast). I have a much better understanding of how important recovery is AND... I feel better!

Things I need to focus on:

  •  Swim - Making swimming core to training. Swimming will like me! Next season do a weekly open water swim to get used to it.
  • Sort out training times and still room to organise much better so sessions aren't dropped and I get more easy sessions in if I want to.
  • Nutrition - hammer this down once and for all. Start religiously logging food when I am not away! No cheating and again preparation and  organisation. Always be in a weight loss challenge or start a permanent one myself.
  • Blog - start to blog properly again and regularly when I am not away.
  • Core & Strength work - Do core sessions at work and try and figure out how to do strength at home. Join or start a challenge for this.
  • Now I have renewed my membership use the ask the coaches feature to ask smart questions to enhance my training plan.

Good got that of my chest... now take immediate action!

See you soon and well done all of you still sticking in there.

Nice job Kate.

I finally weighed in this afternoon---160.6 which is a hair off last week. It works for me man.

I am goin out of town on vacation, no access to scales or this site, so wont be around or weigh in until the 18th. Good news is I am taking my bike on vaca and we are staying right on the lake, so will certainly be able to get some s/b/r in. And Ice Cream, unfortunately.

Have a good week everyone and keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Have a good vacation, if you want to loose by the time you get back moderate your breakfasts and lunches then let go in the evening meals. Oh and keep up the exercise. I did this when I went diving for a week and even though I drank beer almost every night and ate lots of hearty, Scottish fried food I still managed a 1lb loss. What ever you choose have a fab time while you're away and get lots of R n R!

Hey guys....186 for me. Thats 15 pounds down so I hit my goal for this challenge. I still have another 15-20 to go, some i am going to continue to log my weights to keep me motivated.

I was stuck at the same weight for about 10 days, which is completely frusturating. I think it was my body reaction to  how fast I lost the first 12 pounds. I am back on the right track now though and I am waiting for you guy to join me at the finish of this challenge.

Grrr 1/2lb on this week - trouble is there's no reason why. I counted as usual, went to the gym as usual, if anything I would've thought that I'd loose more 'cause I started a new job so was a lot more active than have been for the past few weeks. C'est la vie - hopefully next week I'll have lost!

Ha, there is no secret.

It doesn't hurt that I am 23 so the weight still falls off fairly easily. I figure I need to drop the weight while this is still the case. It also probably had something to do with the fact that I was at maximum density. While most of you I am guessing have been training for a while, I got VERY little exercise in the last year due to starting a new job that keeps me at a desk 50 hours a week. I never adjusted my activity level outside of work to compesate for that.

And yes, I do still have a lot more to lose. My goal right now is to get back to 172. That was my weight when I graduated high school. (College wasn't good to my waist line)

Something interesting I noticed this weekend..... my eating habits have completely changed. 2 months ago, if I slpurged for a day it would be something like eating an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. This last weekend, I "splurged" by eating a premade sub sandwich from the supermarket...and it honestly felt as satisfied with it as I used to with the ice cream. Its funny how we can condition ourselves for these things.

Well this is embarrassing!  I haven't lost a single pound in 7 weeks!!!

I've sort of noticed that just before a planned race I give up on the eating and carb load - more for comfort than energetic reasons ha ha.  Then I gain a couple of pounds and spend the next couple of days returning to normal.

So normal it is again this week... 139  Hope everyone else is doing better than me

That is still great Matt even if you are 23 and have a good chunk of weight to lose. You're still doing amazingly well!!

I hear ya about how the cravings change. Back in the day, I'd crave all sorts of junk food. Now I can say when I get more into training, I actually crave fruits and vegetables...of course sometimes when I crave spinach...it's on a pizza

Hi all...haven't been around much. Sorry.  Did finally weigh in...240.6...down 1 lb from my original start weight of this challenge (241.6)...

Tri season is over for me...did my last one for the year this past Sunday.  Poorly trained, poor nutrition before.

I've been doing an exercise boot camp for the past 2 weeks...just started week 3.  It's helping to remind me how much exercise makes me feel better.  I'm not QUITE as stressed as I was before...

Hi folks.....Went to club today, 161.2 which is up about a 1/2 pound since before my vacation...means I pretty much lost all the icecream and pizza I ate hahaha.

At this point it looks highly unlikely that I will hit the goal of 14 pounds for the challenge, but am gonna stick with it to see where I get anyway,

Keep it up everyone!!!!!
