Extreme Veteran 380  |  Subject: I need opinions pleaseMy 12 year old daughter has a very ambitious plan for this triathlon season. This includes junior races in North Carolina, Colorado, New England and Georgia. We are trying very hard to support her goals, but with my son in college, we will need to raise some money to help cover our travel expenses. We have decided to do a line of t-shirts aimed at those who support a triathletes, since triathletes themselves get so many race t-shirts. My question is this, what do you all think of the idea? Also, how do you all REALLY feel about Ebay? We are trying decide between a website for sales or Ebay. I welcome any and all opinions. ps. I take criticism well! Congratulations to your daughter on deciding to do a tri. My daughter did her first youth race when she was 10 and has been hooked ever since! If your daughter gets hooked like mine, we will need to keep in touch. They outgrow equipment very quickly at this age. My daughter has grown 5 inches since we bought her bike last January! |

I'm afraid that your shirts will get lost in the shuffle at Ebay. Not to hijack this thread, but you should also solicit some catchy little slogans from BT'ers. Many of them are creative, most are relatively normal, and some even have the capacity to come up with clean humor, suitable for families to wear on T-shirts. :-) |

I have a handful of friends who have sworn off ebay because they've been screwed one way or another. I know there are people out there who love ebay but there are also people out there who don't trust it. |

I won't get into how much money a day we make on it, but let's just say it's a very profitable business. As long as you get the right items that people want to buy you'll be set. Remember Marketing 101 in college "Make a product for a market and not a market for a product" We have over 530 feedbacks and only 2 negative feedbacks so people know that we're "good people" My suggestion is try both avenues and that way you'll see which one works...or both may work! molto veloce mama 9311 | Subject: RE: I need opinions please i think its a wonderful idea. you might also look into organizations like the american lung association. i am helping raise money for them, but if i were to do a destination race out of state, they would help pay some of my travel expenses. have you thought about doing things through cafe press? you would have your own website, could do more than just shirts, and wouldn't need to put out any up front money for printing - > http://www.cafepress.com |

What do you guys think is a reasonable price for a t-shirt? I personally feel that anything above $16.00, it has to something I really want bad. Any thoughts? |
