I came, I rode (not well), and I met some really awesome people.  Hell, there was even a full moon on this ride who could ask for more.

I am really glad that we went to breakfast after, you guys are a wealth of knowledge. I can say that we brothers Grim all agree that this is the group for us. If you will have our little family of social misfits that is.

Candicep, You missed a really good ride. I am pretty sure that you would have been better than I was. I "PURPOSELY" controlled the back of the pack. (Way back that is). Does anyone believe that?

When is the next ride, I have to get better and I can't do it alone?

Jerry, Please give me short bus instructions on how to add friends. I still don't see the other control panel.

Wow my first group ride. What a day! Thanks for all the help and encouragement. I am happy to now have a baseline and excited to see some improvements.
I live a very easy drive from this location, so I am down for some weekday rides if any of you central and west siders are interested.

The brothers grim has agreed that the ESCKTC lives up to the name. You guys are east side of normal, but are for sure some cool kids.

Thanks for a great ride. I am looking forward to some more!

For those that requested it (I think some of you did, but I had a few Barley Pops by then and may have been hearing voices!)  I am up for a short-ish ride on Saturday morning.

Attached is a link to the ride if you choose to start with me at 5 a.m. on Jomax and Westwing Parkway across from the new fire station!

Otherwise, I will be at the Reach 11 Sports Complex by 6 a.m. to pick up those that perfer the 30 mile loop (many of you did this as your first group ride and the link is earlier in this same thread!)

WORD of caution: I have flatted on this ride to the tune of a slashed tire!  BEWARE!

I am afraid the Tour de Gilbert will have to wait a bit longer for me - Drinking Saturday evening prevents me from getting there as early as your ride will start!

I looked at the course map linked above, and I can't figure out where Jomax and the Westwing Parkway is. I'd like to make it out with you guys one day. I haven't found a group I can keep up with. I'm not sure why I'm slower than all the groups I try to ride with, but that's how it goes....always end up 2 miles back and lost.

Have fun!

Westwing Parkway is the northern most extension of 83rd AVE.  Some of the older maps do not show Jomax being completed between 67th AVE and Westwing (Westwing is also the North/South road that connects lake Pleasant Parkway with the rest of Peoria at Deer valley) - However, i ride/run/drive almost everyday along this stretch, and the road seems to be there when i do.

As for group riding - Knowing a route is good in advance no matter how fast/or fast challenged you may be.  Flats, potty, and wter breaks can cahnge a ride for anyone.  But some of the ESCKTC rides are "no-drop" or large enough to break into different speed groups.  Typically the Sunday rides are best for those (Although I am not fast by any stretch!)

You should Come join us. I did the route last time and I think I remember it all the way through. I'm also usually at the tail end of the group and won't be trying to break in speed records since i'm riding Sunday too.

I would be interested in a swim/bike brick at Lake Pleasant in the near future - maybe next weekend.  If I can get out there, I will post some details for anyone who wants to join.
