I need some quick advice about an S625X HRM. I know this should really be posted in the products links but I need some info/advice quickly.

I had previously bid on this HRM on ebay and had lost. I was just notified that I have a chance to get it for $220 b/c the high bidder didn't come through.

It is slightly used (seller says used once). It comes with foot pod but not the original strap though she says she has one she'll provide. I also have a chest strap for my S120.

So, I have two questions, will my strap work with the S625X? I am assuming that it will.

More importantly, what do people think about the price? I recently heard about a brand new S625X (for $210) at an Athlete's Foot going out of buiness but they are out of state (Ga) and won't ship to me, no matter how much I beg. Otherwise, this sounds like a decent deal, but I need either confirmation or advice to wait.

Don't know about the price, but I believe your S120 transmitter will NOT work with the S625X, according to the Polar website, assuming, like for mine, your transmitter is a T31 (look on the front). The problem is cross-talk b/w the speed pod and any bike electronics you may have. The one that comes with the unit is coded. However, if you are just talking about swaping the elastic strap, I don't think you'll have a problem. In fact, I think I did this (for my S720) and had no problems.

Thanks, I'm glad to know that now. I was able to withstand the urge to get another gadget, so at least for now I will not be getting an s625x.
