Looks like i'll get alot of rain and some decent winds here in Central Florida because of the TS/Hurricane Fay this week.

I have my first Oly Tri in 5 weeks and cannot afford a few days off.   Whats the best way to train for running and biking?

Should i hit the YMCA and ride the stationary bike or spin class?   Which is better?   Also, treadmill running i assume is my best bet for running?

How should i prepare and expect to train this week?

I use the treadmill and trainer for inclement weather.  Other than using a bike trainer, I believe most people here would recommend the spin class over the stationary bike any day.  Does your YMCA have an indoor track for running(I know a lot I've been to do have them)?

I am in same boat... This week was a "swim focused" week in training so at least I can get that in at indoor pool @ YMCA. Does call for a few bike & run workouts, but will do treadmill and stationary bike since these sessions were less intense than ussual due to high swim volumes.

Good luck those on West Coast, worst impact so far over here has been possability of kids home from school

This week for me is a recovery week so I'm not too worried about it over than the swimming aspects.  Our Y is open for swimming as long as there's no thunder.

Spin class usually is the better workout in my opinion.  You don't have to follow the instructors lead if you don't want to. I'll often replace the standing climbs with a hard seated spin instead.  Dreadmill for me is the absolute last resort!

How should i prepare and expect to train this week?

When are you due for a recovery week?  Your logs don't show a training plan schedule loaded.  If its next week move it to this week then you'll have a solid 2.5-3 weeks of build before a 1.5-1 week taper.

Just got message from my YMCA via auto dialer on the phone (pretty cool) letting m know they are closed for tomorrow... There goes my plans unless storm moves through quickly tomorrow and they decide to re-open or I can fit in run/bike in evening...
