Warm up for 10' and race a .5k - (warm up for at least 500 yds) - if you can - throw in a few 50s - just to get your effort up and ready to race from the get go! Pick a straight line, get on some fast feet and Good Luck!

Race Day
Sprint

Warm up for 10' before the race, make sure your bike is shifting properly and nothing is loose or rattling. Check tire pressure and set your bike in the right gear for the start of the race. Take the first few miles out easy, and ease into the ride. Remember to eat/drink during the ride.

What the heck are they talking about????? Am I supposed to swim 1000 yards before my race?? Isn't this supposed to be a RACE day??? Someone please explain this day to me.

It's just assuming a 500m swim race distance and adding 500m of warm-up (10-15').  Just try to do a good warm-up if you can and then swim the race.

OK, so these are warm-ups for each discipline, I get it. Does it want me to do all 3 before the race? That would be 30 minutes of warming up. I know, noob questions, but I had to ask.

Yes, it's calling for about 10' of warm-up in each discipline.  Mostly very easy, with a few "pick-ups" in each (short bursts at/slightly above race paces).  I rarely have time to fit a full warm-up like that in at most races given logistics of when swimming is available, when bikes need to be racked, etc.  Just try to do something to warm-up before your race and have fun!
