Subject: Swimming causing back pain?

I seem to be irritating my mid back for some reason since I've increased my swimming.  I'm trying to recover from a hip injury so I have been swimming more than usual.  It is in a very specific quarter size spot to the side of the spine in the mid back.  It feels like a burning sensation that never really goes away.  Any thoughts on if swimming could be the cause?

I have had the same problem. It was very bad a couple months ago so i went to a chiropractor. He did not help much but his massage therapist did. The "spinus erectus" runs along both sides of your spine and gets tight. Some massage and stretching helped me. It still acts up after a long swim and run on the same day. Maybe I have something wrong with my stroke in the water or head position?
