Hi, I need to find a small waist pouch to put my cell phone, tylenol, drivers license and powergel while I'm running the nyc marathon tomorrow. Thank god I have off today so I can pick something up.

Please help. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a race belt that has a small pouch. Skip the cell phone you can always borrow someones. Tie your car key into your shoe lace. Why do you need your driver's license? Just curious? Put your asperin in your running pocket in your shorts?..Won't they have gels along the route?

Not sure where you could get it on the spot but this is a website that carries what Im talking about.

Hydration belts come with accessory pouches of various sizes and shapes to handle this sort of thing.  Decent running shops in NYC will carry them.

But I have to ask: why do you want to run with a cell phone? I've occasionally carried one on late night long runs, but at the NYCM there are likely to be a few other people around if you need any kind of help. Wink

Amphipod is a good brand.   I have their fuel belt w/ pouch.

I also bought a Nathan race belt with a pouch at a marathon expo. The fabric is very soft and non-chafing.  Are you going to the expo???

If you will have the race belt against your skin (probably not this time of year), put body glide on it.

Like people said, you probably don't need your license and cell phone but I would bring gels...I have had races run out of them.  I don't like running a race w/ a belt and pouch but did once.

 Best wishes on the marathon!

The SPIbelt! Love it! Great. I ran with it at MCM and had my keys, cell phone and some tylenol. Perfect.

spibelts are the best!  They are made of spandex, so they're not bulky, but expand to hold up to (I think ) 8 gels.

Try www.spibelts.com or maybe it's not plural (spibelt).  "spi" stands for "small Personal items".

I haven't run with it and don't like to wear/carry anything, but the Spibelt does seem to be the best. It's tiny and expandable. I was at the expo last night and they have a booth, so you could just go buy one there. Other brands had tons of options as well.

I like it better than other brands because it is expandable. Other belts stay big and bulky, but this doesn't. I've tried 3 other belts over the years and this gets my best vote. Got it at an expo as well.

So your trying to win, but are going to slow down to call people, slow down to look for them, and slow down to High five them?

Wow you must be fast.

Count me as another vote for SpiBelt.  I picked one up at an expo in August, and I use it all the time for running.  I usually stick my cell phone and keys in it, unless someone is at home, then I leave the keys.  It stays unobtrusive and compact.  It is a little on the pricey side, but if you don't need to carry anything else (fluids, mainly, since there is room for gu or gel blocks) it is the way to go.  I like it better than my hydration belt for anything under 5-6 miles. And since you will have access to water/fluids on the marathon, for the spibelt.

I decided to go with this! It holds my cell phone and a gu perfectly. My id, ibuprofen, a metrocard, tylenol, and $20 bill will go in my zipped shorts pocket.

$16.00 at my local running store

I have a pair of Race Ready shorts and they have exterior pockets for gels, keys, phone, etc. I just place my phone in a baggy to keep it dry.
