Howdy Kids,

This is it, I'm gonna do it all myself this year. It became increasingly harder to scare up a team each year so I'm biting the bullet and doing the whole local one myself. I am an avid cyclist and always did the bike leg. The swim will be no problem, it's the run that'll kill me. I'm not starting from scratch as far as training as I have been spinning over the winter and swimming. I have been out for a few small runs, but getting my butt in gear as the race is in June.

Well I'll chat at you guys later.

Rich

"ride it like you mean it"

ok ok, I use kids figuratively. It's something I always say. I'm 39 if that puts a more specific target on it.

See ya later,

I'm still figuring my way around in here.

You're right, compared to my 34, you're ANCIENT!! :-)

But don't you worry about it, I'm not at all opposed to being called a kid--it brings me back and makes me feel my youth.

A reminder I need this morning, as I'm aching from my swim and bike trainer sessions yesterday. Yup, definitely feeling my age this morning!

Have fun exploring the sight, and again, welcome to the board!! Look forward to hearing about your successes.

Well - here in Iowa people say kidses - like this is the kidses discusssion. You guys are mere babes - I won't even tell you how old - but age is in the brain. Welcome Rich! The run can come by June - Intervals may be your key. Run easy than walk - do som serious walk/run/walk and keep incresing the run or jog. Likely in three weeks or so you will have some good run times going. Don't try to "catch up" train easy - train smart - let the intervals tell you how much run and how much walk. You WILL do it!

Age is mind over matter.
If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

Elen,

A body in motion tends to stay in motion, until it grinds to a halt on the rough pavement. *cringe*

How about - "It is not how old you are - but how you are old!" Get a grip people - most of you are my kids' age and likely a few could be my grandkids Geezz - does this sound a bit "codgerish?"

Hey, Rich. Nice to have you here. I think I'm doing better at age 41 than I did at 30. Can't you tell by my picture?:-)
