saturday, march 12th, up in duluth. 30 mins each of pool swim, spin bike, treadmill run. 5 min transitions. small field (looks like less than 40 people 5 people in each wave). my mom is also doing this one - her first tri. she is 63 and in pretty good shape. she's never been on a treadmill in her life, but will probably be walking the run part anyway.

we had signed up for an early afternoon wave so that my husband and kids could see they might be giants friday night then drive up to duluth in the morning...but we ended up getting shifted to an earlier wave. we might consider seeing tmbg and then driving up to duluth that night (assuming i could sleep in the car).

looking forward to seeing how my times compare to my first indoor tri a month ago. i would strongly recommend doing indoors in the winter. i feel like i'm in better shape than i was last fall...and its only march!

doing this indoor tri with my mom on saturday morning up in duluth. yesterday she FINALLY got to the pool and swam for 30 minutes, alternating crawl and breast stroke. GO MOM! she also go on a treadmill for the first time in her life, and rode one of the stationary bikes used in the race. said it was all easier than she expected. she's getting very excited about it. she doesn't give herself enough credit for her level of fitness. at 62, she can easily swim a mile, hike for hours, and keeps up with her grandkids just fine!

rest day for me today. easy taper week with some short spins and runs, and some pool time wednesday.

now...what to wear?

Best of luck to both you and your mom!

And, the attire from the last race seemed to work fine for you, no? I'd go with that since you've used it before in a race.

she's going to do wonderfully! i wonder if she'll be the only one over 60...

i probably will wear what i wore last time...but i'm still debating if should tri out some of my other tri wear. seems overkill for an indoor w/ only 30 mins of cycling, but i'd also like to test it out. suppose i could test it out if we do some mini-tris again this summer.
