Anybody use and recommend this kind of goggles?  Besides it looking funny, I heard it was better than regular goggles.

I have a seal mask and I will never go back. They don`t leak, plus my vision is much wider. I recommend trying them.

Yep, good thing for sighting during the open water swims. Way better field of vision. Also, they don't make me go crosseyed like regular goggles!

I have a pair that I only wear during races so they're fresh (esp. the anti-fog stuff inside).  I've noticed that after about 5-6 uses the antifog tends to wear off and I have to use an anti-fog gel/solution to keep them from fogging...but even that doesn't last if it's a long race.

So I end up buying 1 pair just for races.

I like all of the aqua sphere masks. Currently I am using the Seal XP which is a smaller version of the regular seal mask. Check both out before you make a decision..also if you are doing outdoor swims look at getting the amber lenses - great for shading the eyes and for spotting the buoys

Take a look at the Aquasphere Kaiman also.  I've used the mask but have been using the Kaimans for 2 years now.

I second the Kaiman. It's as close to swim goggle nirvana that I've ever found!

I have the Seal XP and am about to return it.  For the life of me I can not get it to seal properly on my face.  I picked up a pair of regular Seal's over the weekend and used them for the first time today.  Overall, this is a much better fit for me than the XP.  I still need to work on adjusting the strap to get my "perfect" fit and I need to do a better job of applying anti-fog, but of the 3 pairs of goggles (not including the XP's and these) I've bought in the past three months, these are the best by far.

No raccoon eyes. less fogging, much less likely to come off in open water, wider field of vision- but you look like a bug....who cares ????

I have a Seal Mask and love it. My field of vision is much larger with it than with the goggles I was using. BTW, I wear contacts and I have never had a problem with the Seal Mask I found mine at Costco last summer and it was $19 for the mask, case and "your eyes will freak out if this stuff gets in them" anti-fog stuff.

Hi Steve,

I think the Aquasphere litereature suggests that you put their maks or goggles on while they are still still dry on the inside.  I always dunk mine in the pool or lake before I swim, it seems to be the only way to keep the inside fog free.

If you try this take your extra pair with you, I'd hate to mess up one of your swim sessions with bad advice.

If you have a Bass Pro Shop in Austin they should carry them.  Oshmans and Academy may not.

As far as the fogging question goes, spit is the best. Just drop some in, smear it around and give it a *quick* rince. If its good enough for a HRM strap, its good enough for your eyes.

And you'll never forget it at home....

Just to, again, tout these masks, I love mine. I always hated lap swiming because of the leaking and bad seal. I especially hate it when you kick off the wall hard, and the force pushes your goggles down! ARGH! With the Aqua seal's streamlined design, this never happens.

As for the anti-fog qualities of spit, I can confirm that as well after years as a PADI Divemaster. Cheap and never forgotten at the house!
