I've been meaning to post this pic... OF COURSE you race a triathlon on a mountain bike! You'll see all kinds... I wanted to put a license plate that said "LAURA" on the back of my bike... but my husband stopped me...

I almost think there should be a separate category for people who have managed to scrounge all their equipment from what they had lying around the house and didn't spend a penny on anything new. That's my kind of race! I was PSYCHED when they gave me the free swim cap!

Well since we're sharing pictures of us on our "hot" bikes...here I am with Blue at Danskin last year. Blue was a gift from my wonderful husband who didn't understand what I wanted. I came home one day and found, sitting in the livingroom, a shiney, new Schwinn mountain bike with a big bow on it. He was so proud! He bought it at a big, nasty, horrible chain store. I had it tuned up, added some road slicks, and went with it.

I was going to replace Blue this year, but decided that she needed one more season. Next year I want to do the Seattle to Portland so I'll consider another bike, but for now...Blue and I are a team.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I found the LOUDEST bulb horn I have ever heard. It was at Wal-Mart. It is one of those cheapie plastic ones and is SO obnoxious. I am tempted to buy it.
