Subject: Road bike/tri bike fit question
Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a tri bike. I was professionally fitted before I purchased my road bike. Assuming I'm staying with the same bike manufacturer, do I stay with the same size tri bike as my road bike?

Thanks!

In theory, the bike manufacturers could make it easy on us and change the geometry of a tri bike to match that of the same size road bike... Reality is that they often don't... you're probably going to be close, but you may need to go one size down.

I would get a fitting for the tri bike before going out spending the money on a new one.

Yep your right. Went to the LBS and tried on some tri bikes today. I really liked the Felt B2 54cm, one size down from my road bike. Now all I have to do is come up with some disposable income!

My bike fit guy will tell me the geometry for any bike I want to get....give me what would be custom measurements for custom bike as ideal; then compares it to regular stock bikes that I'd consider.

One fit for road bike, tri bike and cross bike....all which have slightly different geometry.

I know if I get a bike from my bike fit guy it will be one with me and fit great. Next bike up is a mountain bike...next year
