Subject: having foot trouble, need suggestions
so i was running wednesday and at one point felt a little discomfort under the arch on the sole of my foot. i finished the run, and later in the day felt a little pain and soreness when i would try to stretch the arch. i have been rolling it with my TP footballer every few hours thurs and fri, and im a little worried that its the beginning of plantar fasciitis. i DO NOT want anything to do with that crap, so im playing it safe. im planning on taking the next week off, i figure that now is probably the best time for this to happen, as i can take time off without any problems. following that week, i was going to try running and if its still sore, i'll take off 2 weeks and try it again. any helpful hints as to what else i can do would be greatly appreciated. i plan on riding my trainer and continuing my long rides on the weekends as the pool at my gym is closed for a few weeks, and i have to do some sort of training. thanks for the help everyone

Take action with your injury, don't just stay off it and try and go at it again in a week.  If you "all the sudden" noticed the pain it may not be PF.  PF seems to start out as a bit of a soreness and the reason it gets bad is that you can run through it and then turns into a major pain.

I'd go see a specialist who works with athletes. Foot injuries are nothing to take lightly and you will be happy you took action early. If you would happen to need some sort of immobilization in the form of a cast/boot, waiting a few weeks to find out will only delay the process.

Get help from a professional and that is probably the only advice you should take from what I've just wrote. Once you find out what is wrong, maybe you can rely on others who've gone through the same process for recovery tips.

I use to have lots of trouble with my arch on my left foot, it always killed me when I first got up in the morning and when I sat still for a while. I tried about 5 different inserts for my work shoes(I'm on my feet for 10 hrs a day) and nothing worked until I got the SOFSOLE brand from fleet feet. After 2 weeks of having them in my work shoes, my pain was totaly gone. I have them in every shoe I have now. They are only 30 or 40 $$

Good luck and hope it goes away!!

My problem came from my work shoes. Wingtips aren't the best support shoe in the world.

Moral: Keep an eye out for all causes.

Sounds a lot like how my problems with my posterior tibial tendon started.

Google that and see if that is where your pain is. Whatever it is resting is a good idea.
