Subject: National Trail Hike January 25

Anyone interested in hiking the National Trail on South Mountain from end to end on January 25? Rotordean and I are helping the Tempe LTF Run Club set up this hike, which should be about 15 miles total. We figured the weekend after PF Chang's was a good time to stretch out those tight calves!

We're going to park cars at both ends and either shuttle people or exchange keys in the middle, depending on how many hikers we have. Since San Juan Road will be closed that day for Silent Sunday, we'll be using the trailhead off of 35th Avenue at the west end, and off of 48th Street at the east end. Everyone will be responsible for bringing their own food and water, but we'll also stock the vehicles at each end with lots of yummies for recovery after the hike.

If you're interested in coming out, let us know!

Hey I might be up for that.  Need to check my hiking schedule and see if I've already committed myself.  Otherwise - I'm in!

We moved our planned National Trail hike to this Sunday (Feb. 8th) due to some required healing after PF Chang's. There's about five of us meeting at Central Ave. at 6 a.m. to distribute cars, etc. San Juan road should be open to cars this Sunday, so we should be able to get cars to the west trailhead of the National Trail. We plan to begin at the 48th St. trailhead about 7 a.m and hike west for about 15 miles...

PM or e-mail me at [email protected] if you want to hike with us!  (I'm notoriously bad at checking the BT forums, but I'm getting better!)
