New Spring Half Marathon and 10K downtown!

I'm probably going to do the half. I'm not thrilled that it's a double loop, though. It's even cheaper if you're a CARA member.

Agreed. Double loops suck, but oh well, it'll be a nice way to break up the course.

Wow - that is really a cheap price for a half these days!  I was planning to do the Galena tri on the 16th, so not sure which one to do now.  Negatives: 2.5 hour drive & cold water vs. double loop. Positives: First outdoor tri of the season vs. a bargain HM in downtown.  Not sure which way to go on this one!

I'd do Galena.

The bike alone will be worth its weight in gold. Unless you're doing something like Lake Placid, it'll make all your other bike courses for the season feel like chump change. It's a solid challenge and a really well run race. I wish I were able to do it this year but we're out of town.

There are plenty of half marathons in the metro area. But Galena is something special in my opinion. Even if the water is stupidly cold.

sounds interesting but not sure if I will do it.  I figure I will wait and see how my May races or at least how close I am to potentially getting a coral for Chicago.  If I can get a start coral I might do it.   Otherwise I probably settle for a nice half marathon PR during a marathon. .

Ohhh I see they're on the same weekend. Galena on Saturday and the half mary on Sunday. That could be FUN! C'mon people. Let's DOOO EEEET!
