Pre-race routine:

Didn't bring the kids, so no Dunkin Donuts stops needed. Had a little caffeine fix, had a power bar, light jog and light stretch before leaving the house. After arriving, got packet and set up transition. Double checked race route to make sure I know what I'm doing (hate to get lost, you know) since I've never been to this park.
Event warmup:

Light jogging, more stretching, some interval sprints prior to race. Miscellaneous potty stops.

  • 1.65 miles
  • 06m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt okay, but saw so many people passing me I REALLY thought I was taking it easy and then the HRM reared it's ugly head. Oh, well. Still felt good and that's what's important.
What would you do differently?:

Gotta GET FASTER!
Transition 1
  • 00m 21s
Comments:

Very happy with my transitions. That's the only area I don't think I really need to work on.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 32m 25s

  • 20.36 mile/hr
Comments:

Still a little tentative on corners, but much better overall. Just had a bike fit and my average in a race jumped from 20.1 to almost 20.4! Psyched!
What would you do differently?:

Still work on improving corners.
Transition 2
  • 00m 23s
Comments:

I hate to brag, but I love my transitions.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 12m

Comments:

Kept pushing, but always feeling like I've got something more that I'm just not giving yet. Can't quite describe it. Very happy that my second run wasn't much slower than the first. This is my 3rd du of the season and that's improving all the time.
What would you do differently?:

Figure out that feeling and FIX IT!
Post race
Warm down:

Jogged back thru run course to look for Lisa (GatorGirl22). She was looking great at the end of the race. Didn't get much chance to really chat, but it's always nice to meet a fellow BT'er.

Awesome race, Sharon!  Congrats on picking up some MORE hardware.  Do you have enough room on your mantle for all this HARDWARE ?

You want to get faster, eh ?  LOL.  You went SUB 7, 20+, and LOW 7's!!  Kidding aside, you must be pleased that your times continue to drop!  Now keep it up !!

Sharon,
You had a fabulous race time! And I am so jealous of your transition times, I wish I knew what to do to get faster...glad we got to meet up even thought I'm just a 22-year old.

I appreciate the extra help getting thru the end there. I managed to get the same exact time as I got in January at the first Multirace duathlon, which I was pretty impressed with, considering I took 4 wks. of running off. Anyways, I hope to be as good as you someday!
