Is anyone planning on getting some open water swimming in before Galveston?  I am in the Fort Worth Area and would like to get a couple swims in pre-race.  I am up for Grapevine Lake, Benbrook, Eagle Mountain, Joe Poole.  Let me know if you want to swim in the next couple weeks so we can set something up.

Gorilla Multisport hosted an open water swim this morning off of Rockledge Park at Grapevine Lake. We had about 30 people take advantage of the opportunity to get some OW practice in before NOLA and Lonestar.

Next week's swim will be hosted by Negative Split Racing and will be at the same location at 10am on Sunday. If you are a member of any of the TRI Community DFW clubs (Gorilla Multisport, Texas Triple Threat or NEgative Split Racing) this workout is FREE, athletes not affiliated with a TRI Community club are required to pay a $5.00 drop-in fee. It's the best bargain in town and if you have an early season race........you ought to come check it out!

I swam at the Gorilla ows workout on Sunday.  The water temp was 58º...I believe that's what they said.  It wasn't too bad.  Felt cold until the first buoy then after that I was OK.  I swam two laps of the course.

Tommy,
Thanks. Were you in a full-sleeve wetsuit? I've only got a sleeveless but am ready to go swim some open water again and getting anxious.

Thank you.  I will definately check that out next week as I have been looking all over to find someone or a group to swim with.

I just heard from Gerald at Negative Split, that the swim time has been moved to 2pm on Sunday. Still off of Rockledge Park and he is requiring wetsuits. ;-)
