Subject: quick and easy question regarding the bike
I'm new to cycling and triathlon.  Is it safe to store a bike from a hook on the ceiling by the front wheel?  Or is it better to have two hooks holding up both wheels.  Or is it better to store it on the side of the garage on the ground?  Thanks!!!

I've got both my bikes hanging from one hook up on the wall. No problems so far. The only issue to worry about is if you have deep dish carbon rims, then you don't want to hang them by the wheels.

My bike leans against the wall of the family room....she is pretty......she would not like hooks.

My wife and I have 3 bikes (all of them pretty) and they all hang by 2 hooks. I have often used the one hook system for other bikes in the past with no ill effects.

Aquagirl, I'd leave our girls in the living room, too... but then there'd be no room for the dog or the sofa or walking...lol

I'd say it depends on the bike.
Mountain bikes with suspensions sometimes don't like being upside down.
I noticed some slight oil seapage from my fork when I left it upside down for an extended period.

A road bike doesn't have those components usually, so shouldn't be an issue.

I keep my road bike right where it belongs, in my dining area...
and the mtn bike sleeps in the garage, right side up...

My LBS hangs dozens of bikes by the front wheel only-no proble at all. HOWEVER, make sure the hook is rubber/vinyl coated so you don't scratch anything.

yes, sometimes it's nice to still be single...
I can have car parts sit on my kitchen table for days too...

But mostly, you are probably better off than before, right? (well hopefully...)
