Subject: New bike shoes & bruise to prove it!

Last Spring I fondled $100+ BCBG pumps but couldn't justify the purchase. Saturday, I spent $116 on bike shoes and cleats without blinking. My bruise was from the in-shop tutorial on how to attach/detach - I did not bruise while riding on Sunday. The guy who fitted me for shoes assures me that it's just a matter of time before I crash which gives me something to look forward to. (The knot on my knee is from last year's injury.)

$116 on bike shoes and cleats doesn't sound TOO bad. Does that include pedals?

Ouch! What did you do, bang your knee on the top tube when unclipping?

No (already had the pedals) and yes (I got off the saddle - a no-no according to the dude teaching me).
