I'm the latest so far at 8:30. We all gotta wake up anyways, get marked and get stuff out before transistion closes at 7am. So we have a good wait. I just hope the porta potty lines aren't long.

Man...TNT put me down as a novice (which, I kinda am, since its my first Tri) but 8:45 is brutal. I should of made sure they put me in my age group, that would've had me going off at 7:15. Is it too late to change? Do all TNT participants have to go off together? What am I going to do for 2 hours!!

You think the beer truck will be setup then....Mmmmm Beeeeeeeer

Dude,

You only get one chance to compete as a first-timer. If you think you can put up a good time, you might place. I'd take this one and only chance to do so.

2nd place in my "first timer" tri,

Okay, 7:30am start...that means up at 3:30 for a snack...back to sleep for 2 hours....get up...eat oatmeal...shower...get dressed...mix fluid bottles....pack cliff bar....clean goggles....hit the can, read the sports section...go downstairs...get body marked...set up the transition area...say a prayer...put on the body glide, then don the wetsuit...head for the beach.First race of the season!

Wave 20....HHMMM they should put the faster people last...esp since they close the course at 1pm. Real smart to start the novices last. and the older you are the later you get to start. I definately don't need to wake up early...like I'll be able to sleep. Does this mean I have to stop racing at age 44??? How come there are male groups over age 44?????

At least you're not in the very last wave like me!   I don't start until 8:55 because TNT has me in the novice group.  That's ok though because I am a beginner.  Maybe I won't get kicked or elbowed during the swim if I'm with the novice group! It just stinks that I couldn't even make it into the 8:50 wave.  My last name starts with a "Z" and it gets me all the time!

Like MobAlTri said, you could place in the novice category.  I did my first tri a few weekends ago (it was a sprint) and placed third for novice women. Enjoy it while you can because you won't always be a novice!

This is going to be my first tri, and I'm really looking forward to it. Little nervous about the swim, but I'm just going into this to have a good time and finish. I don't even care if I'm dead last and they are picking up the cones behind me and all the beer is gone at the end. I just want to finish and cherish the moment that I did a tri which will also have extra special meaning with doing it with TNT.

However, I'm especially looking forward to meeting all you BTer's down there. I'm sure will have some good war stories about the race afterwards. See y'all soon!!!

Uh, oh they got us old ladies going 2nd amonst the female waves. Hmm, that may make my personal challenge of not being passed by other women on the bike tough with those young studettes in the under 40 age groups behind me.   The kids in the wave ahead of me better watch out!  I love passing gals that are young enough to be my children.
