Subject: Zoot Compression Tights Sizing
I'm planning on getting a pair of the Zoot compression recovery tights, but I'm not sure what size I should buy.  I took my measurements last night and it has me right on the border of size 2 and size 3.  Do you typically go up a size or go down a size?  My guess was to go with the smaller size, but I thought I'd check with some of the people who have used them.

Thanks!

Yes, go with the smaller size.

I made the mistake of taking what I would use in the socks (the first thing I bought) and ordered that same size for the recovery tights.  It was only after the order was being shipped that I looked at the sizing chart for the tights and saw that based on the measurements I should have gone one size down than what I ordered.

While there is definitely noticeable compression with the size I got, it is not quite the same level as the socks (which are actually the size I need in those).  Once I have some more disposable income I'll probably get the next size down in the recovery tights to try them out.  But because I'm relatively tall the larger size probably works better from that respect.

Yes, definitely go with the smaller size.  Based on my measurements I was borderline and went with the larger size.  I ended up returning them for the smaller size after trying them on.

Another for the smaller size.  I was in between 2 and 3 as well.  I ended up buying the 3s and they gave some compression, but not so much in the calves w/ my calves being on the upper end of the 2 sizing.  I ended up getting a pair of 2s as well, which feel really good.

I went down a size too, I can't believe I got those things on. 'twas a workout. I thought for sure the leg zippers would explode and put my eye out.

Whoa, there are zippers involved? Are they made like the one pair of running tights I have that zip at the ankle, that assume that every one has toddler-sized ankles?! Cuz I can't fully zip the running tights and I am NOT a big person!

Yeah, zippers??  News to me!  You sure youre talking about the recovery tights?  They do take some wiggling to get into though!

Sorry, I didn't clarify. I have the "active" tights not the recovery tights. These don't have the stirrups.

I was right on for the sizing and they fit perfectly, although they were dangerously close to showing my butt crack. The only other problem I had was that the seam came undone on the inside near my right calf. I only wore them about 5 times. They were nice especially for the one road trip I took for work. I sent them back to trisports.com last week and am awaiting a replacement. Hopefully they will come back soon.

Dan, Andy says he might think it was dumb to wear them to bed, but that he wouldn't outlaw them.

It's gotten to the point now where the wife will lift off the covers to see if I've got recovery tights or the socks on ..... followed by rolling eyes usually.

Sleeping in the tights is certainly a big inhibitor of enjoying pizza ......

I was worried about this too. I received my Zoots ( active) last week and was actually happy at first that they had zippers because that was my only issue with my Skins. They just didnt compress around the calf enough.

It wasnt easy but I did get them zipped. The running tights I wear sometimes, which I could easily go down asize in, I cannot get zipped.

As far as being between sizes I think they recommend sizing down in the tights ( agree)and up in the tops.

I wasnt in the market but was thinking of getting the top as well and yesterday I was in a local tri shop and they had everything at 20% off and their prices were the same as every place else so I went ahead and picked up a top as well. Hooray for 20% discounts

I was looking at the recovery tights, so no zips there - was just confused by the one post. Our tri shop has them, but never seems to have sales. But Trisports has them and BT'ers get a discount

Yes I saw that you were lokking at the recovery but I figured someone else might have the same concerns as you did with zippers.

Im kind of curious how the recovery tights could have the same compression in the lower leg without having zippers because I know I would probably break my ankle trying to get my foot through that little opening without zippers, lol.

I was debating on the recovery too but decided just to get the active ones for no other reason than price. I dont run in them but I may give them  a whirl tomorrow on my 3:30am run. Maybe if I wear all gray/black the neighborhood dogs wont be able to see me   Zoot Ninja?

On a serious note I really do like them a lot. And I used the BT discoun tyou mentioned

A 20% discount would be really nice!  I'll probably get them from TriSports and use the BT discount.
