I am thinking about investing in some compression clothing for recovery but wanted to make sure it wasnt just a gimmick before I dropped a $100 for some tights or $50 for some socks.  Any advice?

There is no real scientific evidence that it helps (the last I heard/read).

A lot of people swear by it, though.  If you have the expendable income, go for it.  If the money is tight, I would probably skip it.  But that's just me.

I'm from the camp "gimmicky, but the jury is still out" - or "waiting for developing information".

Why not just buy compression socks at the drugstore for $5-30? I have compared them with the fancier versions and not found any difference.
