Feel like I'm in an AA meeting.

Anyway...

I'm actually still a newbie when it comes to Tri's. I did my first sprint last year and loved it. Since then, I've been reading up alot on tri's, and checking out all the forums. I just feel like i can't get enough.

I come from a running background - 2 marathons (NYC & Philly). Not a speedster by any means, and I was never really a hard core type of runner. Only the past 3 years or so have I started running a consistent year-round basis. I have done some bike rides in the past - MS150's (including 1 century), but I just really picked it up again last Fall. Swimming is the part that is really new to me. My kids started on a swim team last year, and it just looked so cool. That's really what drove me to try a Tri.

This year, I hope to get accepted in NYC marathon, (if not, then Philly again) as well as a handful of local 5k through half marathons. As for Tri's, I have 3 or 4 in mind, but I'm keeping the Delaware Diamondman Half IM as my target. I don't want to say "goal" because I want to just have something to aim for. We'll see how the season progresses.

So, as I get more and more wrapped up in this sport, I'm looking forward to chatting with you all.

Having done a triathlon, you qualify!! And you're right, many of us here have owned up to our obsession to triathlons and the need to talk about triathlons, and the need to research triathlons, and the need to obsessively track training for triathlons. Yet we are not quite ready to call it a sickness!!

Welcome, runnerx! Sounds like you've had your share of pounding the pavement!

well RunnerX you've taken the first step... however that step was probly in the wrong direction as now that you are a part of this site you will be on the computer for hours on end (run while you still can! hehe, didnt even intend the pun) and you will more than likely become addicted to triathlons

have fun,
